When it seems

The darkness will win in a time of hardship.

I always come out here and wait for the light to shine through the clouds.

And I know right then and there that everything will work out.

Maybe not in the way I wanted it to, but the way God wants and knows it should be.

But with free will, it’s hard sometimes to know I’m not the one planning out my life.

And I know now that’s a blessing even when I can’t see or believe it.

So like waiting for the light to shine through my dark days, is knowing hope is always around the corner for you and me.

Who do you

Think you are

Coming at anyone the way you did

You must think your so bad and you can do what you want.

But I’m here to tell you karma will strike back.

And I won’t be sad for you Because you laughed and felt so big and bad when you stepped on that little old lady that day.

As if you didn’t grow up to know who to show respect to.

Don’t worry; I won’t be thinking about you.

And then, when they tell me about your bad luck, I will nod and smile.

And hope that little old lady’s pain and tears will dry up and she will heal from what you did to her.

For you may forget, but she won’t, which truly pains me until this day.

I need

A moment as everything comes crashing down around me.

I want to listen to the sounds of the waves, as for the first time all week, all I hear is silence and the songs of the birds.

I know things will work out as I allow positive energy to flow around me.

As I allow nature to heal some of my wounds today, I realize I need to spend more time out here by the lake as the calmness of the water soothes my soul, and I let some of my past burdens go.

I didn’t

Think you would show up tonight

After how we left things, but I’m glad you made it.

As I play it cool for the rest of the night, I can’t help but wonder.

How do you see me now that we’re older and life isn’t as simple as it used to be?

Do you still care when I hurt?

Because I still care about how you feel, especially after our fight.

I want to bring it up, but we’re having a great time.

I know things are changing, and you don’t want to admit it, but I don’t see you as I used to.

Hopefully, tonight you will listen to me, and all I dreamed of saying to you will come out, and our ending to the past will be our beginning to the present.
