I’m only getting

Older and this time around I know what I want and what I need to do.

As I stand on the cliff of life and decide jumping is the only way to leave it all behind.

So I jump and then down I go diving straight into the unknown and for the first time I’m not afraid to get swallowed up.

For I’ve been stalling for a while now and I don’t want to hesitate anymore.

It’s now or never and I rather see what happens than look down the road trying to catch a ride to who I could have been.

Is there anyone

Out there who can see me

Who can feel me

Who can understand me as the words fly from my mouth.

From my fingers to the keyboard and I don’t know what I’m holding out for again.

Maybe I thought I had arrived but there is no one around to greet me again.

Will, it ever change for me, or will I keep being unseen forever.

Some days I’m okay with not being seen and other days I just wish one person could stop and see me for who I truly am.

Poetry

Catching up

on the life I once had time for.

When the days didn’t seem to go by so quickly.

When stress and worry weren’t at my forefront of my mind all the time.

When I could get through a day and trust that I would make it to the other side when it was all said and done.
