too quiet that I let my gift sit in silence out of fear of public speaking

and not being able to share what should’ve been shared because of not being able to look up from the desk that I sat in, but could connect to two talented writers.

But allowed myself to fade into the background and even though that was years ago, maybe I’m still doing that as I hide behind my words, hoping someone will see me and be touched by my words, for that is all I can truly offer.
