I’ve learned to

Just keep quiet but lately I’ve realized I can’t be that way anymore.

That my voice needs to be heard and being invisible isn’t working anymore.

That I want to be taken seriously as I do what is best for me.

I want to stand out like a beautiful waterfall and pour my knowledge on to those who want to know what I know.

Experience life through my eyes and see what I accept and tolerate in my life.

To look

Strong sometimes is all you need to walk by or get by.

But to feel strong sometimes can be difficult to balance when so many things in life are being thrown at you.

To be a strong and caring woman and still be able to fight these battles and not have them taking a piece of you along the way.

Is the kind strength not everyone has and I’m not going to lie sometimes I don’t feel like I have it.

But I try to keep my strength up so no one walks all over me especially since sometimes words can’t help me and the stare of don’t mess with me works with so little effort.

Who am I

Fooling as the past meets the present and I see how much darkness there was before.

The present light brings me forward in life with no regrets.

But am I okay with what is to come?

Or am I unprepared for what’s ahead, and at this point, do I care?

For the ride I’m on isn’t something I’m controlling anyways.

The blessings are great, and the struggles are lessons I’ve learned and accepted.

What more can I ask for at this moment in my life.

I see her

In you, and she is fierce and determined to get her way.

The way she moves and says her words with so much meaning in them that one would fall for whatever she says.

As she reads your mind so when you need encouragement, she gives it to you.

So you don’t let your fear get the better of you and stop you from doing what you need to do.

Because if you don’t say it or do it, no one else will for your purpose isn’t the same as everyone else, so follow her lead and do what he needs you to do today and not wait until tomorrow.

This week

What a chilly start we have had with the snow and freezing rain to the shoveling and the melting and the strong winds.

Where do you begin and end, my friend, as the temperature drops and raises only to go low again?

Like a rollercoaster just when you know the drop is coming and you are ready to scream your lungs off.

The ride surprises you, and there is one more turn, then you drop so fast that even with the warnings of a storm, the cold still slaps you in the face.

And after it’s all over you, bundle up inside with a hot drink, and all the cold melts away as you enjoy the rest of your day.

To feel

Like a neophyte every time I go to write some.

It makes writing hard to do sometimes as hitting published can be so nerve-wracking.

But that feeling comes and goes as one writes more and more each day and week.

Until they feel they have accomplished something for themselves and start to believe again in their work.

In their passion for writing and sharing it with people who care and treasure their words on any given day.

Right when

Photo by BRUNO EMMANUELLE on Unsplash

I step over the finish line and have reached my goal.

Do you show up as if you’ve been supporting me this whole time?

But you disappeared on me a long time ago as if trying to figure me out wasn’t worth it anymore.

I should’ve seen it coming that once I was up again, you would show up, but you know, I had forgotten.

For I was focused on myself and the people around me that hadn’t given up and had pushed and pulled me forward at times, So my success wasn’t just mine alone but a group’s effort in the end.
