Week 208 of Three Line Tales

three line tales, five year anniversary edition: beware of the dog

photo by Ben Williams vis Unsplash

the bark is all you get and as scary and angry the dog may seem in that moment doesn’t mean he really is that mean.

Maybe the bark is his way of saying hello or maybe he is warning you to stay away for what he claim is his to protect.

He is the dog of the house and has to protect and love those that have given him such a great life and a chance to be loved and spoiled he won’t take it for granted for he knows the world can be a cruel place.

That dog!

Poetry

Daily prompt: Fence

Please Fence me in

so I can run and play.

I am a dog and running around

is what I love to do, but you won’t

let me out without a fence.

So build me a fence so I run and play

with my rabbit friends.

Oh and I can chase the squirrels all morning long.

And when I grow tired I will come back inside and cuddle up to you.

And I will smile at you for I had such a great time behind those fences you put up.

Daily Prompt: Companion

My companion right now is my dog as we sit

inside as the severe Thunderstorm does it work outside.

The rain is heavy as it beats on windows and slams on-screen doors,

begging to be let in.

It just wants to play and wash over everything you own and letting you

know material things can be replace but you can’t.

So be safe out there in this storm because it wants a companion too

and it’s best to just not let it have its way.

I’ll take my chances with the companion I have today safe and sound inside

my little home where the rain can’t hurt me as long as I have faith that my God will

keep his children safe and not to worry about the things I can’t control.

Playful

You’re always in a playful mood

Even when I don’t want to play with you.

You just look up at me with those sad brown eyes

And I’m a goner and soon you’re waging your tail

In excitement.

Such a playful dog you are, running around with so much

Joy with a big grin on your face the whole time.
