Quote of the day

Three Line Tales 272

from my childhood flow through my mind as if it all happened yesterday and not so many years ago.
The memories of some good times and some bad times but they all had to happen and I know I am stronger because of them today.
No point in regretting the past as it was a lesson I needed to learn and to not forget because I don’t want to or need to make those mistakes again, for I want to be better and wiser.

Something I often want to speed up
just to get through the day.
But when inspiration hits, that’s when time is so precious and you need to appreciate it.
Because once it’s gone you can’t get that back.
Time is something I try not to take for granted, for when I do I regret the things I missed out on.
But I realized it’s never too late to take the time today and do something great and let that live on for me.
I don’t want to leave anything unsaid anymore.

to get lost this time around as I strive to do the right thing for myself.
No, I don’t want to share this time around, and I have every right to say no to you as I fade deeper into my comfortable cave of one.
I know for you, things are different and I also know that doesn’t mean the way I am living isn’t right for me.
And that this path we have both been on is great for you and not so much for me anymore.
It doesn’t mean that we have to separate completely, just means that as we move forward, I will be in a different space than you.
And maybe it’s for the best, for we have always been different and same in so many ways, but the fact is I want to grow in a way that I don’t see you wanting to.

Quickly, as I leap for my goals and dreams, they seem to fade away in the blink of my eye.
Like pieces of paper, each dream blows away as the wind blows through and sometimes life tortures me and allows me to get close to grabbing those pieces, only to have it disappear just as my hand connects.
When will I be able to live these dreams and will they last longer than the things that ain’t my dreams?
Will I be able to make the leap towards what I want or will I keep fighting for something I don’t want just to get by and not think of the struggles of my life.

I ask for during this time of unknown questions and answers?
Every day is new and I’m still seeking the missing pieces of my life.
Hoping I will start to live for myself and not just for the situation I’m in.
To wake up knowing something great and new is about to happen.
Because there is so much more going to happen for me.

Down on me and wash away the things I can not change.
You blow me around until I realize I don’t need to go that way anymore.
You shined light on my path to let me see that I was wrong to think I knew the way.
On my own I get more lost and feel uncertain until I have nothing left to say.

you and I that make up a heart and jumping for joy when life’s blessing came our way and a new adventure too.
Best friends for life, we said, for we were inseparable and knew we would one day have to face the world as adults and no longer children.
We would have to stand up for ourselves and we would declare what we believe in and we would appreciate those that have helped us along the way.
Our plans would take us in two different directions and at one point we reconnected, and it was great.
But now we are forever connected as friends for life and the support and love is still there but we both realize things would change as we grew up and lived our lives our way that it wouldn’t be the same and that is okay.
For we both have grown into beautiful ladies and we both have set our own paths, and the story we have written is not over as we continue to grow each and every day.
