Today I feel

Hopeful about all the possibilities I could complete today.

I will only focus on one thing then when that is complete.

I will move on to the next thing because when I list it all.

My head begins to spin, and all that can be done is untouched like an unwanted snack.

I don’t want to waste time, but I’ve learned if I don’t listen to my body.

Then my well-being is at risk, which I don’t want to put on the back burner to please someone else.

So whatever I get done today will have been all that needed to get done.

And if I wake up tomorrow, the rest can be divided up again until the list is no more.

Nothing is worth stressing over anymore, as when the weight is off my shoulder, the feeling of being free is what I long for.

So today, I am free to be and do what I want.

Getting Lost in excellent music like “To be loved” by Adele

You feel the connection of her uncertainty and pain as if it’s my own.

Like reading a good book or watching a good movie, the emotions, and feelings take you on your own experience.

And the tears that fall are like those they felt when creating what you now love to listen to or read.

Walking away when the song ends is so easy for us, but for them, that’s their memories, and walking away ain’t so easy.

To be an artist is sometimes hard as this feeling of a need to write is there, but the words are not forming yet, so you wait for them to come in their time.

So the days of no words come and go until you can’t stop the flow of words hitting the paper like never before.

A piece that is not only connected to you but to everyone that reads it.

I Want to

Be seen

But I know first I have to believe in myself so that nothing can tear me down.

When all the eyes are on me, and there will be no time for hiding.

And I hope those who want to hear me will hear me and be touched by my words.

For I once didn’t care if you heard me or saw me for me because I wanted to be invisible and blend into this world.

But now I know I’m meant to be seen, and I am worthy of the eyes on me.

For my present and my future, all I’m focused on for my past hurts, and pains are healed up or on their way to being closed wounds.

That no longer hurts me, but they remind me how far I have come.

Me time

Photo by Imad 786 on Unsplash

Is sometimes forgotten

As I rush around trying to get things done.

The books I was meant to read were forgotten

And maybe on this rainy day, I will sit down and read them.

And get lost in a world of make-believe and, for once, forget my worries and sorrows with every page I turn.

As I finish the books with a smile or a tear in the corner of my eye, I experience something new or just a moment of peace.

And cherish these moments I get when reading a new book and putting in some time for self-care

bowl everything in my life seems up in the air

To my surprise I’m still discovering new things as my journey is unclear

I’m at a standstill right now on the path that felt so right, and I am resting longer than I wanted.

But I am refreshed and awake right now

And soon all that is happening around me won’t be up in the air

And all that I pictured it would be like will fall into place as I open my eyes and know that through the difficulties, I did not quit.

Even when I had no clue what I had walked myself into.

Here I

Am so predictable

Even though you have no clue who I truly am

And I’ve come to accept you don’t care

Because you never really took the time to get to know me.

Because you see, I’m not an open book; I’m a closed-off and guarded one.

And sometimes, I want to be more open, but people show me they’re not worth it right when I’m ready to open up.

So here I am, closed off, and only a few are lucky enough to know me, honestly.

And this year, I’ve accepted that number maybe a little but I’m okay with my supporters.

As they want to know me, and I do try to be open.

But when people have made you question what a true friendship is.

It’s hard sometimes to accept and understand not everyone is the same.

But I also know I live my life my way, and I know it’s not normal, but it’s sane and fun for me.

Oh how

You play the game

So clever you must think it you are

But I see you so clear right now and your helping but at the same time setting me up.

And when will I learn not to let you get away with it?

I know I should say something, but you won’t listen now.

I’m tired of fighting the battle you manipulated since the beginning of time.

So I will let you play, and maybe I exit the game altogether.

Then you win but so do I and I think I will be happier.

And you will be lost as you loved playing these games as if I was so naive I couldn’t see what you were doing.

But I didn’t care what you thought as I knew who to trust, and I know it’s not you.

Things are

Changing, and for the first time, I feel heard and taken care of.

The need to move and make a difference is real.

The need to know my message and journey is being heard and felt.

It is Powerful and uplifting

That wall standing in my way is gone, and self-doubt is curled in the corner.

As I step into my self-belief and care, and realize the fire is still there.

Even though I am quite like a mouse

When I stand up for myself, I am as loud as a lion and brave as a warrior going into battle.

I am so much more, but I haven’t discovered them yet. I know I’m looking forward to the growth coming my way.

As the day

Ends, and what was light turns into darkness.

I look up and smile as today is a good day

I can stand here and be open and free

I can be excited and not fall short in the end.

For the first time, things are starting to fall into place, and there is no coming back from what I left behind.

It’s time to accept that more is out there, and I’m ready to explore it as I have found some great things in darker times.

Something has

Shifted in me the moment

I accepted my past and my future

And started to live in the present, truly

With little fear standing in my way, I felt unstoppable.

I can see myself in a new light as the world moves around me.

I no longer feel trapped by this unknown force.

I can see how I can go far and take action to get it done.

I’m no longer standing in my way, and every day is hopeful for me.

Living a

Life of uncertainties

It is a different experience for us all

For me, it’s not knowing if what I think/feel is my purpose in life.

But I know nothing else in life makes me react like writing does.

But still, the uncertainty about my skill level and determination is there, and sometimes, the doubt and feeling like a failure wins.

Even though I know deep down I’m good enough for myself. If what I write touches one person, then I know I’m a winner in my eyes.

When I write a piece, that feels like a part of me just broke free. And I genuinely think how good and authentic my words are. All my doubt washes away, but that feeling is always short-term.

If only I could live in that bliss of that feeling as the words flow right out of me onto the paper.

Don’t give up

Keeps running through my mind

As I try new things and the feeling of being too tired keeps coming up.

My mind just isn’t as sharp, and I can’t seem to focus for too long.

It makes me frustrated, but today I realized I needed a break.

And maybe I’m being too hard on myself as I want to become someone to be proud of.

I want to stand for something and to help others not just myself.

My desire to write and expand outside my cocoon flows strongly as 2023 says no more hiding, for it’s time to shine.
