Memories

Three Line Tales 272

three line tales, week 272: people riding a carousel

from my childhood flow through my mind as if it all happened yesterday and not so many years ago.

The memories of some good times and some bad times but they all had to happen and I know I am stronger because of them today.

No point in regretting the past as it was a lesson I needed to learn and to not forget because I don’t want to or need to make those mistakes again, for I want to be better and wiser.

Just as

Quickly, as I leap for my goals and dreams, they seem to fade away in the blink of my eye.

Like pieces of paper, each dream blows away as the wind blows through and sometimes life tortures me and allows me to get close to grabbing those pieces, only to have it disappear just as my hand connects.

When will I be able to live these dreams and will they last longer than the things that ain’t my dreams?

Will I be able to make the leap towards what I want or will I keep fighting for something I don’t want just to get by and not think of the struggles of my life.

Like fire

You light the way and

With a smile on your face, you guide the way .

Your hair is all I remember that day when we had to leave town and walk out on the cold, snowy grounds.

Away from the mountains because the cold was coming in, our little town could no longer hold the protection we needed.

We hoped we could find safety soon, or the cold would quickly get us too.

The red of your hair reminded me of fire, and I kept that close to me as we walked ahead.

Trying to stay warm and not let the cold get into my mind, or it will all be for nothing.

Rise and shine

They said to me on this beautiful morning.

So much to look forward to.

Until I realized I had so much to get done and so little time to do it.

So walking away from a beautiful sunrise to start my day was well hard enough.

But the ability to get up from the warmth of my bed to deal with the cold outside.

It’s like waking up from a nightmare and realizing it wasn’t all a dream.

And no matter how many times you try to reclose your eyes, it’s not going away.

And that sunrise that woke you up and shined some light on your day can’t save you from every moment of the day.

For the cards that have already been dealt for you, and the outcome is still not care to us.

But soon, you will have to face them head-on.

Why did

You think things would be different with her this time around.
Was it the blue eyes or the red hair or the freckles that got you this time around?
I could have told you that she wasn’t up to anything good as she eyed you like you were the winning prize at the local fair.
She didn’t bother to get to know you, but somehow you let your guard down, and now I’m chasing her away to save you before it’s too late.
And you are stuck in a situation you don’t deserve to be in as you would give up your world to save someone else and give them a better life.

Why do

Photo by H.F.E & CO on Unsplash

You think you can spit your game at me so early in the morning.

Is it because the early worm gets the catch.

Well, I’m not the one to be caught by someone so slick.

So desperate it’s a game to you, and how many you can catch.

It has become more important than using your common sense.

In this muse of a mess called life, you choose to prey on the naïve and lonely in hopes to secure your heart for a couple of months or to bring your lies into an already hurt household.

When it

all came down your light guided my way

and I knew that I would be just fine to find my way home.

Even when things didn’t seem to be clearing up, somehow, you still got me through it.

In your light, I trust no matter what type of storm comes my way.

I know you are the only situation to save my day.

Oh how

lighted ferris wheel near body of water during night time

things used to be so bright and full of joy.

With no worry in the world to get so close to someone else and not be afraid of catching a virus.

Just looking forward to see the lights and to enjoy your time out and about.

Oh how things have changed and brought new light to things and brought back some of that joy.

So today doesn’t have to be so stressful and can be more enjoyable and still be worth fighting to see another day for.

forest, you grow and not just by growing up but by wisdom and kindness.
You try your best to stay calm and do what you can.
However, life keeps throwing little things your way to throw you off.
And you can choose to fall for them or rise above them and don’t let them bring you down for you know how hard you work, your values in life.
So forget the bitter people and all the evil things they try to throw at you and keep moving until you can move on and away from them for good.

He said

We would be safe here

And I believed him.

It was so dark out

I could barely see, but I held on to his hand desperately.

As we got closer, I could see the light and the hope that things would be okay.

Grew strong inside of me.

That finally we would be safe and have a place to call home.

Together

we ride

Together we laugh

and sometimes we cry.

But, brothers for life we know that even

at our weakest moments we have each other back.

We have learned a lot going down this path together

For we realized that this life style isn’t for everyone.

And that as long as we talk it out and about it

no misunderstandings will happen.

Nothing can come between us

When we have put it all out on the table.

We will continue to grow and settle down with someone special some day

but I know as long as we can ride together it will continue this way.

She was

so close to finding her way

through the play

Even though it was about a time she was not familiar with

she did her best to play Grace.

Taking a photo to remember her time at the theater.

Something to look back at when this summer showing is over

And back to her reality.

Where sometimes her words are not heard and all people see is a pretty face.

Such a

lazy Saturday where no worry or stress is on your mind.
just the feeling of lying around watching movies and listening to music
while I enjoy the quiet day ahead.
You don't have or want to do much more now.
You know that today just feels like one of those days when so much is going to be expressed and every song just relates to what you are feeling.
Today seems to be going by so fast but not as fast as you hoped.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better than before.
You soon receive flowers and nice bottle of wine to go with your snack of grapes and blackberries.
And you think what a nice take to a lazy Saturday for you.

That

Photo by Gabriel Silvério on Unsplash

smile on your face shows your happiness today.

Even though the heat you have kept that smile on your face.

These days that smile is always nice to see as the world around us falls apart day after day.

So much sadness and facts and events going on that you try to lock yourself away from it all and focus on the good moments.

For life really seems short these days with the possibilities that things will and cant last that long.

Everything is changing and the chance that things get better seem so slim right now but you don’t give up for you know there is still hope.

With you red hair shining bright as the sun that day with hope of showing off your red lipstick trying to show that the little things in life still count.

How did

Photo by Matei Marcu on Unsplash

I become so tangled up

In everything.

When all I wanted was to find my way

My peace of mind

My safe place where I would lay my head down at night.
