Daily Prompt: Wheel

I get in the car and think about where  I want to go

and as the car starts up and I put my hands on the wheel.

And get ready to set off onto the road and streets that lead

to so many places.

I think about where I want to go or maybe I’ll get on the road and

drive until I can’t drive anymore.

I just need to clear my mind and just listening to music and being on the move just

always seems to calm me and relax me from all that is going on.

With my iPod plugged in and music at the right volume I jam out to all my favorites as

my eyes focus on the road and surrounds and I focus on the now as everything else just fades to the back until later.

Take a trip with me and forget about all the things that make you so distracted

so tired and just not happy anymore, embrace the new adventure we are about to go on and smile because you are with me and you are safe.

No judgement as we do the things we both love to do as this trip goes on for days, lets leave here knowing we are new and improve and the world isn’t so dark for us anymore.

Looking up at the sky as my day finally slows down.

And I can finally appreciate the beauty and peace this world has to offer.

Sometimes, I wish that beauty and peace came with some patience and a little more kindness.

Daily Prompt: Meddle

I don’t want to meddle into your business

but lately you haven’t been yourself and I just

needed to know that you were okay.

You seemed a little annoyed but, soon you seemed to be okay

with it because you knew I just really cared and wanted to help.

That day meddling was the best thing I could ever do for our bond as friends became so much stronger that day and you knew I’d always have your back no matter what.

Daily Prompt: Taper

A thin taper candle setting the mood

for the night.

As he rushes around trying to get everything just right.

The candle shines so brightly as he cuts off all the lights.

He hopes she likes and says yes to the question his being dying to ask her.

He quietly waits for her arrival and as the time ticks on and on.

He starts to play a game on his phone hoping that will distract him from how much time he really has.

Maybe setting up two hours early was a bad idea as he was about to lose his mind, waiting for her.

he set an alarm on his phone and went to lay down.

As his alarm went off he heard footsteps in the hallway and, quickly ran out their bedroom and sat down at the table.

And as she turned the knob and opened the door.

The look on her face was not the look he expected.

Because, she was not alone and had thought he was working late.

Three is crowd and he didn’t expect the night to end with her walking right out that door with another guy.

Treasure

I treasure this moment as the clock

ticks on and my time becomes limited.

You smile and I smile

the photos hold the truth to this moment we share.

Even when so much is going on and I can’t possible think

of anything go so smoothly.

I think about you and that moment

and the butterflies take flight inside of me

and nothing seems too much to handle anymore.

I walk with so much confident and joy know things will

work out in the end.

Things

are slowly getting back to normal

as my days seem to get longer and I

busy myself with things to avoid the truth.

Even though I want to say everything all at once

it’s like everything I have to say is just coming up blank

and even though I know I need to get this off my chest.

Daytime turns into night and soon I’ve missed my chance to tell you as

I become busy and then you become busy.

Until so much time has gone by that I just don’t feel like it

matters anymore to share this information with you.

But, so how when all is quite again those words are coming to the front

of my mind begging me to tell you the truth now or forever hold it in and

hope it doesn’t come back to bite me in the butt.

Daily Prompt: Catapult

That morning I didn’t expect to be catapulted out of your life.

As you told me off it felt like you had just launched me into the air.

And as I was high above everything, all the memories of our time together played through my head.

And when you were done talking and walked away it all came crashing down.

I felt the weight of your words crash me into nothing.

The person I used to be was gone and who I became next was a stranger to myself.

I was trapped in a body that was no longer me but I had nowhere to go.

And, so I had to accept this new journey I was about to take or I’d waste away into nothing but an empty shell.

Daily Prompt: Qualm

An uneasy feeling rolls through me as I see you

pacing back and forth through the hall that day.

I didn’t know if you were delivering bad news that day

but I almost turned around and ran the other way.

For I had a long day and I didn’t want or need any news

that was hard for me to hear right now.

But, I knew it would be wrong of me if I didn’t find out what was

going on.

So I walked toward you with so much cautions that I didn’t see the smile

on your face.

Even though I was walking right towards you it’s like I didn’t see the truth for I already had expect and accepted the worst.

Poetry

Someday

this path we both try to walk on

won’t be there anymore.

And maybe we will both find a path

that is right for us and even though we

won’t be as close anymore.

I hope that where ever we end up in life

we will cherish the moments that made us

who we are.

And remember the moments we grew together

and the bond we had will never be forgotten.

Daily Prompt: Temporary

Sometimes the way I feel is only temporary.

And is gone before I know it

but in that moment it seems sometimes so intense.

And the next day that feeling has faded away and I accept that it was a test and I got through it in the end.

Daily Prompt: Control

Control something we all want to be

when it comes to every part of our life.

We want to be able to control our emotions so

others don’t see our weakness.

Our control the things in our life we know we

can.

We want to keep it all under control so that it

doesn’t fall apart and life becomes so much harder.

We want the control more than we want other things in our life

sometimes.

But, maybe sometimes having control isn’t always the most important things in life.

Poetry

All alone

I sit here thinking about the things that I no longer have

and how maybe it’s for the best.

As the smile begins to grow even wider on my face  today

as today is the first day.

That my first thought wasn’t about you and no tears fall anymore from my eyes for you.

I don’t miss you anymore and I don’t feel the emptiness in my heart where you used to be.

That spot has been filled and I smile now and realizing I had wasted so much time thinking I couldn’t do this without you.

And now I am and I’m proud of me and I don’t mind being all alone now.

I know

I control my thoughts

but sometimes they just get the best of me.

Turning everything I touch turn into a disaster

and all of it goes up in flames.

I have no one to blame but myself

and the dislike is so strong that I can’t hide from it this time.

The days go by and time is lost as I wonder what I can do to stop

this cycle of happening again.

I’m not the best at keeping change for somehow the past mistakes

sneak back into me like a snake and the bite is always so poisons that

the results are always a loss.

I’ve tried to stop myself before the damage is done but somehow I always

let it out in the end and I floats through the air traveling fast to get to its victim.

And at the time it feels like it needed to get out and maybe it did in a better light or a different day or time.

Life changing

moments are happening all around us

but when do you decide to stop and study the things that have been thrown at you lately.

Do you continue to ignore the things that make you question everything going on in your life.

Or, do you just hope that one day the answer will just drop into your lap and life will just get better or worst.

But, you feel your strong enough to get through it all no matter what comes next and you can do it all on your own too.

Did you ever stop and think that maybe there is someone else out there that can help you every step of the way.

Or you just raised to think that when times get tough fighting through it all alone is the only way not to get stabbed in the back by your enemies.

When will you decide these changes are too big for just one person?

And just maybe you will look up and, see all the hands that have always been out waiting for you to grab onto.
