Daily Prompt: Opaque

It dark out when the fight broke out

with the smears on the window.

Every moment they made was so blurred that

I couldn’t tell who was winning.

All I can hear was the loud voices and bark of a dog

then the light from my neighbor’s house all come on at once

and then feet steps and a door opening.

To car doors closing as the nightly fight interrupted and broken up

for the cops show up.

No time to looking back

anymore for I have new hope that this will workout

for me in the end.

When the sun is shining brightly from the beginning and the peaceful feeling is washing over me today.

I know that things will look and be good for me and those around me.

I don’t have time to look back at the things I missed out on or the things in the present that are not apart of my life.

I live for the now and if you’re not apart of my present than that’s on you not me and I smile knowing that I made the best out of what I had.

And the possibilities are just starting and future holds so much for me but I’m going to focus on the present and light up everything that comes my way.

Because, this year is the battle of a lifetime and I won’t stop fighting.

Even when my hope gets low, I will just rely on my faith to carry me through it no matter what.

For I don’t have time to look back when the most important things are right in front of me.

Daily Prompt: Unravel

To untangle one’s self from the things that are better

left in the past.

Can be hard sometimes when you want to untangle yourself from the

sticky webs of a spider.

A spider that thinks your nothing more than a meal ticket and just doesn’t want to let you go.

You cut yourself out of the trip and run as fast as you can and if you are lucky enough you may just get away.

But, you will never forget that day and it will be a strong reminder that you can never turn your back on something that is dangerous from the beginning to the end.

Daily Prompt: Cusp

I’m just on the edge of something

new.

But, something is holding me back

and I can’t seem to figure out how

to push past it.

And  time seems to be running out and the little

bit of chance I have to succeed this task is coming to an end soon.

Daily Prompt: elixir

A love potion would it be worth it

how long would it last?

And would the results be worth it?

A mindless lover that just seems to want too much.

Some would think a love potion for it would change everything.

But, what if it just made things worse for they weren’t themselves.

And when it wore off would they still love you or hate you forever.

Poetry

I’m losing it

my eyes are playing tricks on me

as I see you everywhere I look.

You seem so happy too

but how could that be when your gone.

I hear you call out my name and I swear I see you

smiling back at me.

But I think I’m seeing and hearing the ghost of my past

The past I sometimes regret being apart of.

There isn’t a day that goes by the those days don’t just flash

in front of my eyes as if I’m living that moment again.

And this time I say the words that needs to be said and then like a

ghost you begin to fade away anyway.

Daily Prompt: Minimal

Your words spark a little fire in me

and not in a good way.

I was so mad that I wanted to say something but

I knew the storm that would come out was not worth spilling out on you.

You were not a big enough deal to ruin not only the rest of my day but others around me

You wanted to feel important even though you were no better than the ones before you.

So with a deep breath I let out the small amount of frustration that you brought on me and

moved on with no regrets.

And so you faded away from my mind as if you had not even came around.

Poetry

The tight

grip on my heart as the sad feeling of life is changing

and even though I’m going in a great direction.

There are things that feel like I’m leaving them behind

and that makes me feel so sad.

Some things have made such a big impact that letting them fade away

just seems so hard but the truth is they are already disappearing, anyway.

I don’t want to let go, but it’s so hard to walk away and give up on something I have

yet to finish.

I’m finding myself even when I have to the time to not even want to hold on or try because it’s not the right time or I just don’t want to.

But, I know sooner or later I’m going to have to make a decision and I just don’t think I’m ready for it now.

Maybe next week or a month from now but in the end I will have to walk away and find something else to full my time with.

Not every goal or dream is something worth holding on too in the end.

Daily Prompt: Ruminate

I had to think carefully when it came to what I wanted in life.

For one simple decision could change everything.

And something’s there’s no going back to and soon it’s all left in the past.

To think deeply about the matter and not get distracted by other things in life.

Is hard but it has to be done sooner than later, if I want to live a certain way.

You shined so bright

Three Line Tales (TLT) is a challenge put forth by Only 100 Words. The Challenge is to write a three-line tale for the supplied image.

Here is my take for the Week Number Fifth-Two :

tltweek52

It had been a long time since I’ve seen you shine so bright

when he said goodbye to you years ago I thought you wouldn’t smile again

but one day out of the blue you smiled at me and said it looked like a great day for a walk and after that day you were never that sad again.

How could

I know what was on your mind

as you stood there waiting for me to make the first move this time.

I just stared and wished I could make the first move but for some reason I was stuck to this spot.

Watching you watching me, I felt like time had stopped for you and me because their was nothing in this room that could get in my way.

As I finally made my move, so did you and we met up in the middle of the room with the music playing around us and the chatter in the background.

As friends meet up together after such a long time

with nothing but smiles all around I realize tonight is not just special for us but for everyone who has come out tonight.

This night will not end just happily for us but for others as well, and I say that’s truly the little joys of life.

Daily Prompt: Hideout

I want to hideout with you even if it’s just for a day

to just escape from the craziness of this world.

We could bring all the things we would need like food,

drinks, movies and music.

We would watch and eat as much junk food as possible and laugh until the day ends with joy.

Our hideout days will be memories that I will treasure for a lifetime for I know there will be times when we can’t spend as much time together.

As we did that day, with being at work takes up more of our time than being off does.
