No surprise

Of all the days you would sneak up on me, it would be Halloween.

You came into the party with your Wolf mask on, thinking you looked so smooth.

But your voice gave you away as soon as you didn’t get what you wanted.

I didn’t come to you like prey but ignored you because I no longer like wolves.

I stood up to you that night, and a cheetah came along and guided me to safety, and for once, I felt at home even on a night so dark and cold.

You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for?

Three magic Genie wishes: what would I ask for?

Firstly, I would ask for inner peace for everyone in the world. So many people are suffering and need a moment of silence and peace.

Secondly, I wish to have a successful career in whatever I want to do so I can financially provide for myself and my family.

Thirdly, I would wish for the ability to travel whenever I want because wish two will provide the money for it.

You can’t quiet me anymore

You didn’t hear me because you shut me down like the TV on mute.

Nothing I said mattered to you, so you didn’t listen to me because you didn’t care.

And so, I grew quiet out of fear. If you heard me, you would hurt me.

But you didn’t even see me, let alone hear me, because I didn’t matter.

I was nothing; I was invisible until one day I screamed, and then you heard me, saw me, and couldn’t ignore me anymore.

For I was strong, I had found my voice, and this time, I wasn’t going to hide or care if you were scared.

I am here to stay, and there is no going back to that little girl who was bullied and treated as if she didn’t matter.

I am a woman now, and I stand up for myself, and your words have no meaning now.

That’s why I stand up on my own, but I’m never alone, and this voice is like a radio station; it never goes out until it wants to.

What is your favorite form of physical exercise?

Favorite form of physical exercise?

Walking it clears my mine even if it’s just walking the dog for 20 minutes.

Walking around the house when it’s too cold outside, listening to Fitness Plus by Apple walking with celebrities, and learning about their lives are lovely, peaceful, and inspiring.

Also, I like cardio dance workouts and kickboxing, all things I hope to get back into soon.

Would I pay to go to the moon?

Nothing for looking at the moon is enough for me. I would love to be able to see all the solar eclipses and phases of the moon, but I’m not interested in going there

I am grateful for another year to be alive, and for all I have been through this year to get to today. I am older, and I know today will be great with the Lord by my side and getting to spend today with those who love me the most. I truly hope today will be great for everyone else. As the sun shines and leaves fall, we all continue to grow and learn and love with all we have!🎉💯❤️🎈🤗🙌🏽🙏🏽🥰😸

Because you are me

And I’m ready to show you

I’m not backing down as

This journey is getting quite interesting

I’m moving along like a snail sometimes, but I won’t stop until I finish.

I was made for this task, and even though sometimes signing up for the mission is hard, I won’t give up no matter what.

I know you will see me and hear me from now on. I’m not afraid of the unknown, for one step at a time will get me there, where I know I will fight and shine in the light that is me.

What major historical events do you remember?

Historical event do I remember?

It would be 9/11 as it was 2001, and I was in the sixth grade, and I remember us being in the hallway.

And I remembered some girl telling my friend whose sister was stationed in New York that her sister was probably dead. Me and my other friends and I comforted her and told her not to listen to that girl because she was wrong. Her sister was fine when she got through to her on her phone later.

I also remember they made me and my older sister wait to be picked up by our parents in the office and told us to do our homework while we waited.

And then, later on, once we were home, we watched the news, and they told us the whole story and advised parents to allow their kids to stay home the next day if they needed the time, for it was a sad and tragic day.

And I remember us crying and taking that day off and going back the day after, and it’s one of those things you will never forget. Even 22 years later
