What am I

To do when no one listens to me.

I only speak out because I care and what is going on isn’t right.

There is always going to be someone not playing attention and trying to set you up in life.

But always taking the high road will get you somewhere in life and maybe it’s time to get away.

It’s time to clean out the old memories and allow room for new ones.

As I want to be heard and I want to see results and not be pushed back into the corner where no one will look for me unless something big happens and they then know who to seek.

Your music

It always moves me whether you are on your guitar chilling on the couch.

Or you are sitting at your keyboard trying to come up with the right melody for a song.

You always bring this positive and inviting energy.

That makes it hard to stay away.

Your smile is so bright and your voice so smooth I’m transformed into a calming space, and before you know it, I’m drifting off to the calm waves of your song.

Poetry

You give me

grace and the space to step out of the noise and into the light

You give me clarity when I am stuck and in a corner of doubt, and the ability to get out is not something I can do alone.

So there you are, always helping me out and pushing me back in the right direction.

So when the right words just aren’t coming out, I want to say I pause and call to you every time.

But I don’t, but when it’s piled up so high I can’t see the mess beyond, I call to you and then the words come to me.

I know I should call out before things get bad and sometimes I do, but I am only human and sometimes I forget to do what’s best for me first.

Just know you ‘re always on my mind and I feel I’m getting better at reaching out to you for the pieces of me that are good is because of you Lord.

I don’t want

to get lost this time around as I strive to do the right thing for myself.

No, I don’t want to share this time around, and I have every right to say no to you as I fade deeper into my comfortable cave of one.

I know for you, things are different and I also know that doesn’t mean the way I am living isn’t right for me.

And that this path we have both been on is great for you and not so much for me anymore.

It doesn’t mean that we have to separate completely, just means that as we move forward, I will be in a different space than you.

And maybe it’s for the best, for we have always been different and same in so many ways, but the fact is I want to grow in a way that I don’t see you wanting to.

Poetry

Just as

Quickly, as I leap for my goals and dreams, they seem to fade away in the blink of my eye.

Like pieces of paper, each dream blows away as the wind blows through and sometimes life tortures me and allows me to get close to grabbing those pieces, only to have it disappear just as my hand connects.

When will I be able to live these dreams and will they last longer than the things that ain’t my dreams?

Will I be able to make the leap towards what I want or will I keep fighting for something I don’t want just to get by and not think of the struggles of my life.

I’ve got

Photo by Rory McKeever on Unsplash

A long road ahead of me if I want to make this work.
If I want to take this seriously, I have to do what I’ve never done before.
Beat at the roadblocks in my way and fight through them even when I feel I don’t have any energy left to go on.
I won’t just sit around anymore, being afraid of the outcome.
I may have a long road ahead of me, but the road behind me is not worth going back to.
So from now on is the only thing that I know now will work out for me.

Let it

Burn as it has no longer matters to me.

I can’t keep doing this when the fire inside of me is burning out slowly.

I know what happened to me in the past

And I won’t let it come into my present moments.

So I will let it all burn up and fade away like the moments of yesterday.

And the

Cycle starts again

And all I want to do is avoid

The eyes I feel watching me now.

I just want to blend in and not worry anyone.

As I’m tired to the bone of trying to please everyone.

I will

Not fall on your sword because you want to make me unhappy too.
I will not listen to your words.
Because you seem to know it all
I will not blindly follow you through a storm I do not believe in just to feel like I fit in.
I will go down my path and sometimes leave it to say hi and see what else is out there.
But, this path that I am on is the only path I will stay on.
Until he detours me to the path that leads me to my final destination
Then I will see and hear and do what feels right for me.
For my life on this path is only as successful
as long as he allows it to be.

Week 250 of Three Line Tales

a swan gliding over a lake with a fairy castle in the background

Swan I just want to travel off into the fog with no worry or concern insight.

As I travel through this life the way I want to starting now and I won’t look back for no more putting others before myself.

For I don’t want to fall into the trap of disappointment again and just let the water take me where I’m suppose to go.

In The

three line tales, week 45: a black silhouette in front of a fountain at night

dark you see the shadow of me, the one who keeps walking on this path at night alone with only your light to guide me.

I know that some think my path is more full of light and maybe it is but the darkness is still there waiting for its turn to come.

So it can swallow me up and leave nothing behind of the person you all once knew.

Falling

apart as

the feeling of everything being drained from me.

My energy

But not my hope to get things done.

As I some how find enough energy to go on

and accomplish what I need to do today.

No more letting things get in the way

but doing what I need to do anyway.

As I finally break the hold procrastination has had on my life all this time.

Saturday Six Word Story Prompt (6WSP) #51 – August 15, 2020

Poetry

I want

To reach out to you

And let you know how things are.

But it’s like you disappeared again.

And maybe this silence is for the best.

As the morning begins you are the second thing on my mind.

But I push pass the disappointment and get up to start my day right.

With hope that things will go good and I will accomplish all that I can today.

Without you and as I move forward I will hopefully stop looking back for you.

As if you will ever truly catch up.
