The moment

Photo by Wolfgang Hasselmann on Unsplash

I walked on the path; I felt something I had never thought I could.

The ability to know I was going the right way for once.

Self-doubt just melted away, and I was proud of who I was becoming.

And I didn’t want to blame others for my pain anymore.

I didn’t want to give up so quickly, for I was fighting for myself this time around.

My worth. was too great to give up, and as I approached the opening, I didn’t look back.

break, they say you really need it.

And this time you listened.

As you arrived on the island, you couldn’t believe your eyes. Right, there was a rainbow.

And that felt like a sign as you had been going through quite the storm and here you are feeling at peace.

Standing in the water with no stress or worry insight as you let your body relax.

You can feel your soul at peace as the beautiful surroundings push their positive energy your way.

You Slid

In my life, like a little kid on a water slide, you were trying to have some fun and not grow up too fast.

Because now you are an adult and everything happening around you is chaos, you sometimes want to get away.

Like a detective, people close to you try to find out what they can about you, hoping to bring you down.

They don’t want to see the positive things you do, so they somehow bring up negative things to rob you of your good mood.

But their efforts don’t last long, for there is always something good to pull from this world, drowning out the villains that don’t want to see the underdogs make it to the finish line.

And so you come out smiling, and even though every day isn’t always bright, I know you will get through it.

Daily Prompt: Bitter

I won’t be bitter as things in your life get better

and mine becomes a little off.

Your happiness is just as important as mine is when your luck

is looking up.

I won’t be jealous even when life is better on your side.

I know my time will come, too, and you will be just as happy as I was for you.

day ends, and I go outside once again to look at the beauty of the night sky.

Which always helps me see the little blessing in life and be joyful about all I was able to do today.

And gives me hope that tomorrow will be better. All I must do is keep on believing and I can get through it all.

Frozen

In time, like a photo, you stand there with wide-open eyes and a slightly smug look.

And I wonder if you know how ridiculous you look, but in a photo, everything around you is so clear and bright, like the sun.

I can tell happy and over the moon to be free from this place where it is sometimes hard to be joyful.

But now, as I look at your face, it’s hard to look away as you’ve drawn me in like a bug to light, and I know it’s too late to look away.

I only can break eye contact when I hear the rain pouring down hard outside.

When it’s over, I look at you as you have moved next to me to watch the once dark skies turn light; I know I have found my rainbow that will get me through the many storms yet to come my way.

I see you like the beautiful sunrise in the morning that sets the right mood for my day and the sunset that ends my days at a beautiful moment.

You are a new beginning to something new that won’t end with self-sabotage because you won’t let me miss out on something more, and I am not the only one who wants this to work out this time around.

I sit

in the park and I try to calm my mind, but all I think about are your last words to me and I think.

As I pull one petal from each rose, I say, does he love me, he loves me not and then I realize this game never works as you hope the outcome will go in your way, but it won’t matter.

Because it’s up to me and you to figure this out and we will, or we won’t, and then one day we will walk past each other like complete strangers.

And my days of sitting at my favorite bench in the park will have nothing to do with my thoughts of you but my thoughts of someone else.

To hear

And seeing the truth is hard sometimes with lies. Try to shake up what usually is calm and quiet.

The need to be always in the center of attention must be tiring and heartless.

If you have to go to extreme measures to be seen, that’s not even being seen for who you are.

The need to step away and stay out of the shadows you hide in.

In hopes to always be in the light where you can’t stay for long, and the feeling of being safe is natural and authentic.

You wash over

Me a feeling so amazing I can’t shake it, a Feeling that consumes me to the point of no return.

A feeling that fills me up inside until I know what I have to say or do.

A feeling so pure and unverified it’s hard to explain, but I know that I must try too if we’re ever going to be more than just simple and plain.

For it’s time to shine and light up places we never thought or wanted to but that we can and will.

Because self-doubt is like I made up by my mind or those who don’t believe my difference can be just what we’re looking for.

Like the

Moon, sometimes I hide behind things in hopes of being unseen.

But sometimes, being something or someone different makes you stand out even when all you want to do is hide.

Too much attention can become too many demands, and expectations may lead to procrastination.

As you can’t keep up with being all or nothing and feeling like you failed sucks, you are looked at as something great, but you feel less than fabulous all the time.

And the expectations that you want for yourself are now impossible to contain, and your dream is gone like the moon on a cloudy day.

Poetry

Not a

fan of your words and the reaction you wanted from this immature action.

You move around as if you have no emotions to how things will go down as if you’re living a fantasy.

And don’t realize reality has consequences if you play with fire and just keep feeding it as if you won’t get burned.

Like a little child, you keep getting closer to the heat as if it’s fun to feel the pain and witness the scars and horrible, uncomfortable experience you bring to others.

You think you can just make us all forget in the end, but the truth is we see you now and the places you thought you could hide behind won’t work anymore and you will pay the price.

For nothing in life is truly ever free because, one way or the other, you will pay a price and do the time.

Admiring

You as you push away the negativity and embrace the positive ways of life.

You push down your walls to let back in pieces of the world you want to enjoy again or the first time.

Not everything in life is nasty and dark, but some things are light and bright and full of joy.

Making you let go of the fears that are holding you back from living the life you need to live now or never. It’s up to you!

I hope it’s now as the day comes to an end, and tomorrow will come, and hopefully, you will know what to do.

What if

Photo by Mark Duffel on Unsplash

you listened to the signs of warnings in your life

Would you be in a better place?

Or would stepping off the path that is no longer serving you make things better?

Sometimes you must read beyond the sign but then again if the sign is red and telling you to stay on the path.

Let’s just stay there and see where the path takes us for when it’s right everything will slowly fall into place.

Even in

A brief storm in my life, my passion, always shines through it as it continues to grow and bloom on its own.

Sometimes I can stand tall through it, but sometimes I need to bend down and take a moment to appreciate what I have and what I want.

My future is not always going to go the way I want it to, but I know I will be okay wherever I end up.

So as I stand up and take a shot, I see the world for what it is and capture it the way I know beauty is and can be.

Being lifted

Up from a fall, that should have left me alone, but there you we’re.

So strong and determined to get me to a good place so I wouldn’t be that low again.

A man with a purpose to make others better and safe no matter where you are in your life, he will be there for you.

So I know when I fall or leap, he will be there to catch me, so failure isn’t something I fear anymore.

To embrace my lord and know I don’t need to worry anymore, for what is to come will come whether I am ready or want it to arrive.

And knowing the fall will not harm me or stop me from what he has planned for me is worth all the strange things coming my way this year.
