Daily Prompt: reprieve

Advertisements

I thought I’d never escape this unpleasant situation.

You just kept talking and talking

and I just smiled and tried to be polite.

But, the moment the bus stopped at my stop.

I’ve never moved so fast to climb down those steps and walk away quickly.

finally putting in my earphones and letting the music calm me again.

As you fade from my mind.
