Self-doubt

It must be fun to be you

As you turn people’s lives upside down

You wait around scouting someone’s life, and right when they have it all figured out, you scoop in and wreck it all.

You smile as they fall apart, just short of finishing or starting something new.

You sit them back down, and all their courage disappears.

And you have won this round as they go back to not improving themselves.

And get sucked into a hole of distracts with no desire to try again.

But oh, self-doubt, I let you in, but I won’t allow you to stay as I have things I want to succeed at, and I won’t let you take control of my life.

I know what you can do, and if you do come knocking, I think I shouldn’t answer the door.

Do you remember life before the internet?

Playing outside

Running around

Having so much fun

Until the streetlights came on, then home we would go.

To watch some Tv

Then soon, it would be time to eat

And off to wash our hands we would go

Then soon we would go to sleep

And dream of doing it all over again.

As there was no internet to distract us or keep us sitting down.

The world outside our home was where we loved to explore until those darn streetlights would come on again.

Flower, I wish for growth this season

But this spring has been harsh on me

Some days I am bright, and you can see me

On other days I am curled up inside as the weather around me isn’t helping me grow.

This spring weather has been too cold for me to grow and show the world all I hope to offer this time of year.

Maybe there is hope for me in the summer as the weather starts to heat up again.

You play the game

So clever you must think it you are

But I see you so clear right now and your helping but at the same time setting me up.

And when will I learn not to let you get away with it?

I know I should say something, but you won’t listen now.

I’m tired of fighting the battle you manipulated since the beginning of time.

So I will let you play, and maybe I exit the game altogether.

Then you win but so do I and I think I will be happier.

And you will be lost as you loved playing these games as if I was so naive I couldn’t see what you were doing.

But I didn’t care what you thought as I knew who to trust, and I know it’s not you.

Trying not

Fall when life trips me up

With things unexpectedly happens

And the words hit me like ice-cold water, and I’m frozen in place.

I can’t shake the feeling of how one sentence turned everything upside down.

I felt like the high I had been riding began to deflate, and there was no coming back for me.

Up and down, my mood went throughout the day like a rollercoaster.

Then I investigated what had affected me and realized it wasn’t so bad.

As I read on and on, I didn’t feel the way they did, and I realized someone would always try to tear something down.

Even the most minor mistakes will make it bigger.

But in the end, the positivity canceled their negativity, and I could finally move on and forget about this fall.

How do you feel about cold weather?

The cold is not my cup of tea

The cold weather is too cold for me

Especially if I have to bundle up so much that I feel suffocated by the things just trying to keep me warm.

I used to like the cold as a child when school was canceled, and playing in the snow was fun.

Now I see it as something, not that fun and something I would like to avoid.

When it’s too cold, it feels like ice is sitting on my forehead, and to be able to function well, thats not happening.

The need to stay warm all the time makes the cold seem like another job.

The cold may feel nice sometime when the weather is just right, but the cold weather is no joke.

I rather not entertain it as it can be pretty tricky and unfair.

So let’s forget the cold weather and enjoy the nice calming weather right now.

For it too will go away soon.

Changing, and for the first time, I feel heard and taken care of.

The need to move and make a difference is real.

The need to know my message and journey is being heard and felt.

It is Powerful and uplifting

That wall standing in my way is gone, and self-doubt is curled in the corner.

As I step into my self-belief and care, and realize the fire is still there.

Even though I am quite like a mouse

When I stand up for myself, I am as loud as a lion and brave as a warrior going into battle.

I am so much more, but I haven’t discovered them yet. I know I’m looking forward to the growth coming my way.
