Sally drops her ice cream on a hot day

and she falls to the ground crying for the taste

of the vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream is gone.

And then she starts to say to the melted remains of the ice cream

how sorry she was for dropping it and wasting it for both of them.

Then she dramatically falls to the ground and picks up a flower and lays it in the melted mess than skips away for another ice cream this time in a bowl.

The gem

Advertisements

I sit there staring at the most beautiful gem

I have ever seen and the want to have it is so strong

It could knock me off my feet.

The color so bright it shines just like the sun, sometimes so bright it blinds you for a moment.

But, the beauty is so unreal it’s scary something so great could be so real and so close to being mine.

It doesn’t cost money or trading things to get, it just takes a bit of faith and hope and a little movement with  your nose.

Close your eyes and reach out and the gem would be mine.

For the gem was never a piece of treasure but your heart inside of you and I worked hard to make sure it was mine to protect and love for a lifetime.

I want to tell you that I admire you for your strength, honesty.

But, that means I have to stand in front of you and tell you all these things.

And my mouth is dry and my feet won’t move and so you walk by and I just let you be.

Another day, another hour, another moment lost.

My regrets of not saying anything is starting to eat up inside and yet here.

I write out the words and yet still I can’t say I admire you for your always kinds.

The way you’re  always so sweet to me all worth nothing if I seem so rude and thankful for you.

I admire you and only if these words could reach you, life would be so much better for me.

For your moment to shine would be so much appreciated by you.

Dahlia was such a lovely name at least that’s what her mother thought.

But as Dahlia begun to grow up the more evil she became.

To little jokes or pranks you thought were cute at five but,at fifteen she was out of control.

The struggle to raise such a girl was hard on her mother.

Every time you turned around she had antlers on her head showing you  who she truly was.

She had accepted the darkness in her life longtime ago and the need for being bad flowed through her veins everyday.

The evil inside her was Methuselah and Methuselah felt like it was someone who was years beyond her age.

Her mother had a Presentiment moment that lead her to take an evasive action to help get rid of the evil inside her daughter.

Her mother searched high and low for her but could not find Dahlia.

Who was busy across town at a low-key bar hanging with her barkeep friend, enjoying drink after drink.

Until the drinks started to leave a nasty residual in her month, so she asked for water and so sobered up.

As Dahlia walked to her car, she begun to feel like someone was watching her in the darkness of the night.

So many shadows to hide in until they could pluck her off the street.

So she picked up her pace and just as she got to her car, she froze as a hand reached out and plucked the evil right out of her.

Soon the sunrises and Dahlia was never the same.

Your like a leave being blown around by the wind never easy to catch and it’s just too much energy to catch you.

But it’s always beautiful to see you flying in the air.

Your colors are red and yellow and soon your telling me fall is near.

But, even when the seasons change you never setting down.

Your like a bad  storm that never ends and were forever locked up inside.

Waiting for you to stop playing around so we can move on to brighter and clearer days.

Daily Prompt: Unstoppable

Advertisements

The words flowing through my mind are

unstoppable.

And as my pen hits the paper what needs to come out is unstoppable and unbreakable.

It all just seems  so amazing that I can’t stop smiling and the feeling is contagious.

Each word touching one person leads to another until there is no one left to reach.

The words continue to circulate through your mind and your phone as you share it with one another.

And then you realize no amount of failure will stop you from writing or doing what you love.

For the feeling that is burning through your heart, mind and body is unstoppable.

And amazingly you become greater than you ever thought you could because one person believed in your talent.

And now you couldn’t stop doing what you love even if you wanted too.

The moment was so intense the

air was hard to breath.

As the difficult decision had to be made

and I knew the words would crush you into dust.

The world you had existed in all your life was beginning to disappear and you had to decide if you would go with it.

The decision felt so right but torn you apart at the same time.

And as the tears fell down your face, I stood there supporting you and with the decision made.

A week later you said your finally goodbyes and we drove away leaving the trouble of your old world behind.

Leaving them all behind in our dust as we drove off those dirt roads for the freedom we  so needed to keep surviving.

Daily Prompt: Elusive

Trying to find time to see you has been elusive

and as time goes by its like your slowly fading away.

Your like a favorite poem printed out on paper only to fade

and become hard to read over time as the paper ages with the memories

and thoughts of you.

At first it felt sad to not  be able to talk to you much but overtime

like a fresh wound it begins to heal and the sadness slowly faded into

acceptation.

And even though I still miss you sometimes, life goes on and I will always

have the memories of the time we spent together.

The laughter and the tears, the hugs and the words that felt so true at the time.

My heart will always have an elusive place for you, but I’ve accepted that you won’t

come back and it time to finally let go.

A place to go to when I’m in trouble

A place that wraps me up that I feel so safe

at night.

A place to go to when I know I can’t do it on my own.

A place I go to with my lord and when I’m done talking to him.

I always feel so much better and whole again.

A place that is like my home and is always safe.

My sanctuary is the place I want to be when it becomes too much or I’m troubled.

Daily Prompt: Clock

I keep looking at the clock

But you never show up and so

You broke the one promise you said you never would.

And my doubt begins to grow until it is a wall of vines that are too difficult to deal with.

Will you be able to fight your way back from the wall of vines or will you just give up and let the clock run out.

Daily Prompt: Punishment

As a child punishment was something we wanted to avoid at all cost.

But yet we would do things that lead to that punishment.

We talked back, we broke things and we pretended we didn’t do anything wrong.

And yet the punishment came and we had to accept it and learn from our mistakes.

Punishment is meant to teach how to do better and be better.

If only we learned from our mistakes and didn’t repeat them, than maybe we would all be better off in someway.

Fear Be gone!

Advertisements

I won’t wait around waiting for you to freeze me up.

Limiting me to do the things I might want to try but like a deer in headlights, I can’t move or go on.

Then you come along and said  take my hand and let’s do it together.

So as time goes on I can face my fears knowing your always looking down on me, pushing me to do more.

And to not let my fears get the best of me for life is short and the end sometimes comes out of nowhere.

So fear be gone, you don’t have control over me anymore!

Daily Prompt: Slowly

I’m slowly becoming who I want to be

someone who doesn’t keep thinking about the things that didn’t work out.

But knowing it wasn’t my time so I need to keep working hard and, slowly but surely I will get to the ending that is right for me.

The feeling of peace I get when I’m going down the path God wants me to take is amazing and,no matter how slow or long it takes to get there.

I’m going to walk this path and even when age creeps up on me and the slow path is the only path life has to offer me.

You will see me smiling every step of the way for that feeling of peace is a feeling I want to feel for the rest of my life.

Put my hair down and let the wind blow all my stress away.

I want to skip down the street and not let the worries of it’s too hot out right now.

I want to be a carefree child again and not have the worries or thinks of an adult.

Oh carefree spirit come back and rescue me so I can be set free from this worrisome life.

So I can smile again and laugh without thinking about what’s to come.

To be lost in my silly carefree joyful moments, oh how I miss you.

hopefully I will see you again and life will be the best, for carefree moments are the breath-taking moments that don’t feed even with age.

Daily Prompt: Depth

The depth of your words surprised me and I didn’t know what

To say and so I brushed it off and let it slide that night.

But, when the morning came your words rung clear in my ears and I knew

I couldn’t ignore how shocked I was when those words came out your mouth and the look on your face was so serious.

I tried to play it cool and in the end the misunderstanding was just that and maybe the depth of your words, didn’t truly hurt for being friends for so long I knew you didn’t mean it.

The depth of those words, didn’t ruin anything today or yesterday and hopefully tomorrow they will have no hold on me or you.
