So good as your light shines brighter than it has in a long time.

And I want to say I’m so proud of you for fighting for change and hope.

You were different as you sought the unknown this year and conquered it all.

You didn’t give up but rested up when you needed a break.

I know you have so much more to accomplish, and I will be here every step cheering you on.

So keep your head up, Girl, for nothing can stop you now.

Here today, I feel blessed to end another year.

My eyes and ears are open as I wait for what today will bring as we celebrate what a year is and embrace what is yet to come.

All I can think of is what a year is and how I won’t stop now, for next year will be better as I continue to focus on myself.

For my growth can help others and as I listen to what my Lord wants me to do.

To continue connecting and embracing who I am and what I stand for and what I stand against.

I know, the hours will seem long, but the day will fly by.

And at midnight, I will start a clean sheet and walk on the path that feels right.

I wonder who else will join me and say farewell to those who didn’t make it but whose memories will be carried on for years to come.

It is what I give as I empty the things that burden me.

I know taking them into the new year will not help my growth.

So forgive all that have judged me and whom I have judged too.

I forgive all that have hated or disliked me, and I forgive myself for not accepting them for who they are.

We all have hard-to-break habits, and learning to understand is better than jumping on them for their differences quickly.

To leave this year with a clear heart and mind feels like something I need to do.

To be forgiven and forgive is something worth seeking as the day begins and the weight on my shoulders has been lifted away.

I see all the darkness around me and I wonder why am I allowing it to get too close.

I should have just let it go and moved on because the toxic in my life wasn’t worth it in the end.

The good times don’t outweigh the bad, but there is time for me to turn this around as I wait to step into the new year and try to be on a fresh path and leave some things behind.

For my sanity and peace of mind, as I want to stay in the light and see all the things that could be possible for me.
