To say something

Advertisements

Is tug a war with my soul.

The feeling is so strong that it makes me want to just open my mouth and let it all out.

But nothing comes out when I open my mouth this morning.

And so I sit here trying to make sense of how I feel and if this situation will ever come to a closure.

Or just have an unknown ending like a cliff note at the end of such a great book.

I remember

Advertisements

Every time I would get excited to talk to you.

Like a dog still excited to see his owner coming home every evening.

I know as time goes on, things keep pulling us from reaching out.

but there isn’t a day that doesn’t go by that I don’t think of you.

And the thought of just stopping by and saying hi is so strong.

Yet I pull back every time and now so much time has passed that I guess I should learn to let go now.

And step out of that space in the past and walk into my presence again.

Like a flash

Like a flash you’re on your way

to new things and better places.

You’re gone so quick sometimes

I wonder if I imagined you.

Your focus and quick decisions

let you accomplish so much

in the blink of an eye.

You have achieved everything

in so little time; and yet

I just wish you’d just slow down,

and appreciate what’s happening

all around you, right now.

Women we are

Advertisements

Strong

Wise

Connected

Determined

Pained

Happy

Angry

Sad

We experience it all, but to be a woman, well, you just have to be one to truly understand.

We judge but we support too, and when we fight together it’s revolutionary.

So much more we could say, but we know when our silence speaks louder than our words.

Happy International Women’s Day!

To wake

Up and see another day

Is a blessing I’ve taken for granted but every day I seem to slow down and say thank you.

For this life, I live and control just a little bit of still surprises me for I am not the one creating these miracles but I do accept them.

And embrace them as I continue on a journey I know not the ending of.

So I’ll take the risk and move forward today and tomorrow as long as he allows me.

For today I smile and embrace the change and the feeling of truly being loved.

I lean

into each situation not expecting to be perfect

But hoping to do my best at what I have to endure.

Trying to stay focus on the positives and not even giving the negatives the time of day.

Pushing back even when the waves are too strong, but somehow I keep going gaining more strength along the way.

Until next time it’s no more a challenge but another path I’ve already overcome.

To get

Advertisements

Away just for a little while would be nice.

To watch the sunrise and sunset every day with no care in the world.

To take a breath of fresh air without a mask.

To be alone for more than five seconds.

To finally lose myself in a good book for a day or week.

To hear the ocean again and just trying to watch the beauty around me with no need to hurry away.
