I said those words to you and how much it meant something to you then.

But now that’s all in the past and now the future is not the way we had hoped it to be.

I’m here and you’re there and it’s not so bad now as I’ve grown so much and any thoughts of you just don’t pop up anymore and I’m grateful for the memories but I’ve put them away a long time ago.

And now I wait to say those words to someone else and this time the outcome will be forever instead of a way of saying goodbye hoping things will or could’ve been different.
