I crawl

Into myself, as you pick everything around us apart.

I am waiting for you to come for me, and then I will stand my ground.

Nothing is ever good enough for you, and I try to keep things positive, but you won’t stand for it.

Your words are like acid burning up anything good until we’re all tired and annoyed to fight back.

So sometimes, we walk away and shake our heads, for you will never see the rainbow at the storm’s end because you will always be focused on the negativity.

While little blessings are happening around you every second of that day or in the days to come, you don’t realize that you are shutting out the light that represents who you are.

  1. Sadje – I am writing to express my opinion, share my experiences and to maybe provide some insight. My blog is addressing women at 50 ( but men are welcome to read my posts) ,their issues and the questions that come up at this stage in life. I don’t aim to teach, but to learn together.

    A poignant reminder
