They try to

Hold you down with their negativity as if their words could reach out to you like a hand.

They are trying to squeeze the joy out of you because they enjoy making others suffer when they get bored.

They create so many unnecessary things just to feel the power flowing through them. They enjoy knowing they can shut you down and break you.

But they only hurt themselves as they silence the ones who would have helped them.

But now, as they fall, there is no hand to catch them, and they fail to reach their end, knowing they truly lose.

And the one they left behind is now on top, for they climbed the ladder the right way.

Avoiding all the missteps you took, and now you are looking at them for help, and they don’t even blink as they close the door on you as you did so long ago.
