Maybe I

Advertisements

Don’t know you the way I thought I did

So today, we’re strangers like before

And as I look at you in this new light

I realize now that you never cared

All you cared about was having others see you in a particular light.

And those that truly matter

You eventually stab them in the back, for you don’t think about who may be holding the door for you later on.

For you don’t do anything wrong and so your bridges in your mind are never burnt

But I’m here to tell you there is no going back with me.

I’m over here, and you will never find another way to me.

But some part of me wishes you well, for id never wish bad on you or set you up.

I don’t want to be bitter or nasty because those roads are hard to come back from.

Because a hater can run deep, I will instead be positive and have clean hands, for what is happening now isn’t always going to be this way for me.
