You’re right! It is an understanding of reality.
I just saw something on Law and Order which reminds me of this, the man says that he does not like being threatened by the lawyers, and the investigator tells him, “The SEC doesn’t make threats. There are those who co-operate, and those who don’t, and we have very long memories.”
Yes, I remember almost everything people say or do, so the quote rings true for me.
