Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.

Risk you took that you do not regret?

Investing in myself as a poet, then an author, and now as a coach.

When something feels right, the risk is worth it.

I don’t regret starting this blog, which has helped me grow as a poet and writer, seeing others support me, and I support them. I am just falling more in love with writing and reading others’ work.

It is life-changing, and I’ve had a lot of life-changing moments since taking the risk of being my authentic self and doing what I love.

So, I’m ready to take more risks to live a life worth living because I only get to live as me once.

What makes

What makes you nervous?

Me nervous?

Public speaking, just the thought of presenting something live or in person, has my heart racing.

I become nervous even if I calm down and think about it again.

And writing my books and publishing was nerve-wracking, for I didn’t know if anyone would like it.

I guess that could go the same for blogging when I first started, but now I know I need to get it out, and it’s okay if no one likes it but me.

I guess the real thing that makes me nervous is the attention, like when I’m speaking sometimes I get nervous even if it’s just one one-on-one but more than two eyes and I worry about if I’m pronouncing things right or if I’m making sense because I feel I have a speech impairment as sometimes I just can’t get the words out and I thought it’s because I’m nervous or tires but it happens every now and then with simple words.

So basically, talking makes me nervous, but I know it’s part of life, so I find my ways and try to get through it.

Maybe that’s why I like writing. It is calming. It allows me to be free, and there are programs to fix my mistakes.

I’m pretty sure I rambled on this one, but oh well. Please enjoy it or not!

Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

The first thing that comes to your mind?

I need to get out of this bed, but it’s cold, and I don’t want to.

It’s raining outside; it will be a gloomy day where rest seems more likely than work.

So time to get up for I’m hungry now and it’s Friday after all don’t want to waste a day when there is so much to do.

So, goodbye bed and hello kitchen for breakfast are critical meals, too, and I must start my day right if I want to end it well.

Describe a decision

Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.

I made in the past that helped me learn and grow.

I decided to get a life coach in 2022 and go through a year-long program that completely changed my life.

It was fairly easy to say yes to this coach as I felt what she had to offer was for me as I was stuck in life but had dreams I wanted to come true.

This decision was one I would have to stick to because I had become a sign me up woman and barely ever showed up for the free programs or webinars.

But this program I was paying for, and I wanted to change, so I consistently showed up for calls and did the assignments we got assigned to help push us out of our comfort zone. And showed up for private individual calls.

I learned I matter, my voice matters, and I’m enough, and I have so much to offer. Waiting for things won’t help it happen, and I had to stop hiding and hesitating from the life I wanted.

And when I had to miss one or two, it was because I couldn’t physically do it. I even sacrificed my sleep and time to do the work to change and improve myself.

In the end, I learned I was still holding on to past hurts and not communicating with the ones that matter to me. I had so many walls up that I’m surprised anyone could get through and, let alone, really know me.

I don’t eat out much these days, but one of my favorite restaurants was “The Greene Turtle” in DC whenever I went to a concert at The Capitol One Arena.

They had such delicious honey and barbecue chicken stripes.

Now I eat at home!

Where do I

Advertisements

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

See myself in 10 years?

Um hopefully in a better place I am in now job wise.

Spiritually, I feel God is blessing me quite nicely as I think life is calm and peaceful, and I’m healthier than ever, so I have no complaints. I would love to continue having great faith and leaning on God first.

In ten years, I would love to be a successful, confident coach for women and help at least 24 women or more a year. Depending on the length, I would still write poetry and fiction and have 20 books, two a year or more.

I would also have traveled around the world, taken tons of photos, eaten tons of good food, and spent time keeping old and new relationships strong.

Also, get married, start a family, get a dog or two, live in a nice-sized rancher, and live a comfortable life.

But whatever happens in ten years, I know I worked hard, and God will give me what I deserve.

What book

What book could you read over and over again?

Could I read over And over again?

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill because it’s a great book and so interesting it makes me want to read it again and again.

Also, I am a little biased, but my first poetry book “Words Are All I Have,” keeps motivating me and showing me how powerful words are. I love the poems I’ve written at times when I needed an outlet and something that expressed what I was going through, and each piece is so relatable. Also, it’s an excellent place to go back to since I haven’t written as consistently as I have before.

What job

Advertisements

What job would you do for free?

Would I do for free?

I would say blogging and art, as those are two things I love to do.

But I’m not sure my art would pay any bills, but my soul still calls for me to make it.

I’ve learned to stop what I’m doing and create as I try to live by listening to my body and mind, for self-care is essential.

That’s where blogging comes in. It’s been my source of getting my words and emotions out and connecting with great people, so I’m now happy to write for free here.

To write or try to draw is like breathing; it comes and goes, but without it, who am I?

I am working to find my words, and as much as they disappear and reappear, that’s the fun of the job because when they come back, it’s incredible. The feeling that flows inside me fills me up with hope and joy the feeling of seeing something great over and over.

Now that’s a job worth working for free to me! Every day, a poem or piece lights someone up or makes them feel something from my words that they keep returning for more now. That’s the meaning of a job well done for me.

I like the figure skating too. I don’t have any favorites, so I see how good everyone is and, of course, hope the USA wins, but sometimes the other teams are better.

What aspects do you think make a person unique?

Their personality and quirks as we all see the world differently, and so we act differently.

Like my ability to remember things since I was three or four in great detail or my big imagination, I guess, could be something unique or how I write; still, I feel the quirks and how that person is with a combination of their personality makes them unique to me.

What’s a secret

What’s a secret skill or ability you have or wish you had?

Skill or ability I have or wish I had?

Um, this is a good question, and I would want more than one ability. So I’m good at remembering conversions and memories from, like, when I was three or four with, like, precise details.

Now, if I would combine that with the information I need to give a speech or study for, then that would be cool. It’s almost like my brain could shuffle around information files, and when I need it, I speak it.

It would make learning things easier for me.

Also, I was thinking maybe reading minds because some people are just so hard to read, and it is more accessible to interact because ignoring them seems a little rude.

But then again, if I could wish everything I need in life would happen, wanting things I don’t need would be easier.
