Winter is

in the air as I stand out in the field, loving this place I call home.

Even though winters here are brutal, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

I know everything about this place and all that there is to see and feel and experience, but each season always brings me something new to see and feel and remember.

I want

to feel the cold wind blowing around me as I get cold but not too cold.

As I look around and see the snow that fell just yesterday start to melt away like my problems from yesterday.

I Stand and I move to keep the warmth inside until it is my time to go back inside for I know the tough times are not yet behind me.

And I know that I am strong but how strong when it just feels like someone is lifting me up just to slam me back down.

As if my injuries and feelings don’t matter anymore and I am replaceable.

The hat

completes the outfit as I go out in the cold

trying to keep all of me warm as the temperatures start to drop.

I know that I won’t have long to be out but it’s better too not have to deal with feeling the bitter and sharp wind outside.

Oh, hat how you keep my head warm and how you come in handy when I don’t feel like doing my hair.

You give me just the right amount of warmth and just for the amount of time I need it for.

I know you only come out in the winter but I enjoy wearing you during these seasons.

Week 169 of Three Line Tales

photo by Peter Gonzalez via Unsplash

Day hasn’t been what we imagined it would be as the rain keeps coming down and all around us.

But, we don’t want to end the night so soon so we just enjoy the rain as we walk and run to her next destination.

In hopes that we can have a great time out with our friends for it has been too long, since we have seen each other and tonight feels so amazing and I don’t want it to end ever.

We hadn’t

expected this little bit of snow to appear on this day of the week.

For it just didn’t feel that cold out for snow to fall or for it to stick either.

But, here we were as we looked up from all the rushing around the shop this morning to see the little flakes falling from the sky and lay so nicely down on the pathway between each store.

It looked so nice as if it belonged there and we have no say in the matter, but we all agreed  as we had so hoped that winter was over and spring would soon appear.

But, the cold was in the air again and we soon begun to bundle up again and leave early so that we wouldn’t have to rush when the weather got so bad that traveling would not be likely or safe.

Oh how we know winter looks nice in a picture but is not so fun to be in the moment when it throws all your plans off and makes you not want to go out for freezing your butt off isn’t something you want to accomplish this season at all.

Storm here you come to make an already cold day colder and wetter than before, I don’t know if you care but we don’t want this storm or need it either.

We hope it just quickly ends and we can move on to spring for we got the cold weather and have got through those days.

Now we don’t want to think about snow and how much it may cost us in the long haul, all I want to do is not worry about the things I can’t control but for now I will just do what needs to be done and go out into the storm.

Fall

You’re having so many mood swings with the weather being so cold then warm and then rain.

Yet, I still the beauty in you as the colorful leaves fall to the ground and spread out all over the place.

The smell of crisp leaves and the chill around me warns me of colder days but, for now I will enjoy what you give me Mother Nature.

As I enjoy this time of year and this moment in my daily walks.

I hope to keep you leaf and hope to keep you safe even if it’s just for a while.

Cold

air is all around me and I just want to feel the warmth again.

Too cold to stay out here for long

Too cold to truly enjoy the beauty of the day

Too cold to want to feel the wind blowing freezing air into my face.

Too cold to want to do anything but bundle up in blankets and sit by the fire and maybe read a good book.
