Daily Prompt: Nightmare

Advertisements

You shock me to my core and the fear of what woke me up.

Feels so real that I can’t shake the feeling that it’s still close by.

Watching and waiting for me to relax and fall back to sleep before it strikes again.

It haunts me at night and sometimes when I’m lucky I don’t have nightmares.

But, when I do have them it feels so real that the images play in my mind over and over again.

Sometimes they fade away and I don’t ever think them again.

Nightmares used to haunt me with monsters and aliens.

Now they haunt me with reality and I can’t tell you what’s more frighten.

  1. The Authoress – The truth is: I'm defining myself as a person and writer. I hope to relate to others as I attempt to put my emotions and thoughts into words.
