Daily Prompt: Qualm

An uneasy feeling rolls through me as I see you

pacing back and forth through the hall that day.

I didn’t know if you were delivering bad news that day

but I almost turned around and ran the other way.

For I had a long day and I didn’t want or need any news

that was hard for me to hear right now.

But, I knew it would be wrong of me if I didn’t find out what was

going on.

So I walked toward you with so much cautions that I didn’t see the smile

on your face.

Even though I was walking right towards you it’s like I didn’t see the truth for I already had expect and accepted the worst.
