He was too young to think much about that day
when he won his first medal that day.
He didn’t think about how many more he
would win over the years and how fun would
turn into being such a competitive person.
He sat in his room on a lazy Saturday day shining
his medals until they were all polished up and he could see
his reflection.
He knew now how proud his parents were that he was on a good
path and staying out of trouble these past years.
And, so he would be leaving for college and all his medals will be left alone
in his childhood bedroom until he sees them again.
He won’t be that little boy anymore and hopefully he will still be on the same
path as before just more mature.
