Daily Prompt: Quill

Advertisements

One of Jimmy’s favorite memories as a kid was sitting in chair next to his grandpa and watching him write.

With a blue quill pen, his writing was always so nice and fancy.

Jimmy couldn’t wait to write that nicely

and once he was six his grandpa tried to teach him but his writing always ended up looking so sloppy.

he would practice and practice and still his writing never got better.

He finally gave up and one day while visiting his grandpa.

He saw a blue pen lying on the desk and grabbed it and started writing.

Everything he wrote looked so nice and neat that he hasn’t tried a quill pen since.

But, the blue quill pen his grandpa used to  use before he passed lies on his desk now.

As a reminder of their time together.

  1. Sandra J. Jackson – Canada – Who am I? That's a question I have been asking myself all my life. I have many different roles, the most recent is that of a newly published author. Like many people I am still trying to figure out where I fit in this world.

That’s sweet! The ending put a smile on my face.
