Daily Prompt: Traditional

Advertisements

So many things in life people want to keep it the traditional way

and maybe somethings are precious enough to keep it traditionally.

But, sometime things are meant to change and go in a new way and that’s okay too.

Each generation change the things that came before them for they feel this is a better path for them.

But, we all in a way make the same mistakes because, we didn’t want to listen to those that came before us.

Or we have no one to tell us that the way we are going isn’t the right path to be on but, sometimes we want what others have.

And the facts don’t matter at the time because what we see is something that looks great but as time goes by the image we saw starts to crack and we see what it looks like to live that life.

And it is not as pretty as we thought it would be and do we start to think that the traditional way is a better way or is it just a wiser way and it makes us stop and think about the things we are allowing in our lives.

The smell of your aftershave

was too strong to be around people.

At first I thought I was the only one

who was having a hard time breathing.

But, everyone around me was backing up

or trying to smile through the smell in the hope.

That you would move along quickly so the fresh air smell

would come back.

As you left I took a deep breath and was relieved to smell something fresh

and pleasant to smell.

I hope to not smell that horrible overpowering smell again but unfortunately it probably

will pop up again.

Your eyes

Advertisements

are on me like you’ve never seen anyone like me

and I want to say something but the words just won’t slip out my mouth.

I feel like you’re being very rude right now and I want to say a few words to you

but instead I find myself writing a couple of paragraphs to you.

As if I’m writing a letter to one of my long-lost friends.

I say nothing as I past you and drop the letter in front of you and as you say

what is this.

I say read it and find out and if your still curious about me just call or text the number at the end of the letter.

I smile and wave goodbye as I walk out that door to either hear from you or to not care that our path may not cross again.

But, I know for sure that I won’t forget those eyes after that day of us staring longing at each other as if we were both trying to figure out a puzzle and wanted to be  the one to solve it the fastest.

She sat in the audience

waiting for her favorite band to perform.

As they came on stage she screamed with the crowd

and as they song all her favorite songs together they harmonize each note on point.

You couldn’t tell where one member ended and the other begun.

It was beautiful and amazing and exciting at the same time to hear them live and in the moment she didn’t think life could get any better.

Until she got an autograph picture of her standing with them that night in front of the stage.

Even though its been years  since that day, she still smiles so wide every time she sees that picture.

Daily Prompt: Gate

Sometimes I hesitate when I come to the gate, not knowing if I’m ready to go through that gate.

And is the gate really leading me onto the right path

or should I wait and for a less scary gate.

Should I have more faith and courage that God will always lead me to the right path in my life.

And I need to sit back and trust him for the long path is not shortened by my doubts but, by God’s blessing and I just need to trust more and believe with all my heart.

That the next gate that is open will be the right one for me and there will be no doubts.

And I will walk through that gate and know that the outcome will be the best solution for me.

Stay away from me, they say you hurt and numb everyone that get close to you and I for one don’t want to feel that pain.

that scars you for life and just remembering something about you triggers that pain or sense of it.

So say away I say for I’ve had enough pain for a while that letting you into my life would definitely be a bad idea.

Daily Prompt: Lollipop

Advertisements

Life sometimes can be like a lollipop

for it could be so hard and working through your problems.

may take a long time to solve and you have to go through so many trials or layers.

Just to get to the center of your problem or problems.

And, sometimes the outcome isn’t so sweet and it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

And so you don’t try that favor or solution again  when it comes down to dealing with the problems of your life.

Like a lollipop life can have some sweet and cherish moments.

But, sometimes things start out sour and end on such a sweet note or moment.

Daily Prompt: Disastrous

Everything seemed so relaxed and everyone was having a good time

and then you walked in with so much anger and hate.

That even a hello wasn’t good enough for you as if you didn’t want anyone to notice you

and so your bad energy damaged the vibe of such a good day.

As you threw a fit and even after you walked away we just couldn’t get over how you reacted and how we couldn’t stop thinking and talking about it.

You came in with no focus but to turn our day upside down and to just let out your anger as if we insulted you.

Sometimes little life moments can feel like a big storm and knock you back a couple of steps.
