Daily Prompt: Soil

As she knead on the ground getting ready to plant her roses for the year

she let the soil go through her fingers as she begun to dig a hole for the pot to go.

She always enjoyed the feeling of the soil on her hands as it falls down back to the ground.

Gardening was one of the things that relaxed her in a way nothing else could when she just had so much on her mind.

Wearing her big hat to keep the sun from beating down on her on days when it was just to hot but the breeze made it bearable for her to stay out and upkeep her plants.

Midweek challenge from Bikurgurl. 100 Word Wednesday

Nicolas Picard

I’d never been to one of these events before

but Ryan was competing  for the second time and needed some support

so I came along for the ride.

And was blown away with all the talent I saw that I begun to get nerve for Ryan but didn’t want to say anything.

For he needed to focus for his turn was coming up and he just knew this year was his year and with his good luck charm he had an even better chance.

I hoped I was enough to help him win.

100 WORD WEDNESDAY WEEK 27

Poetry

Daily Prompt: Edible

It was your first time cooking a meal for me

and I wasn’t sure it was edible at all but I didn’t want to be rude.

So I took one small bite and to my surprise it was more than edible,

and so I asked for seconds and it filled  me up for the night.

Afterwards we laughed at how I looked when I first saw you bring out the plates with food on them.

It was good that you weren’t offered and so we ended our night with a movie and you

promised me the next meal would be just as good or even better.

never just hide behind my words when it came to you

it’s like you knew the truth before I tried to cover up the things going on with me inside.

You never seem to let me doubt myself for too long

you always wanted me to believe that I was better than I felt I was.

That one day I would become the man you hoped and believed I would be

and even though things were changing you were still around.

But, now your going through so much and I don’t know where to start

to help you get through it all.

But, I won’t give up on you even though you are pushing and pulling me in so many directions.

I know that you care and I know that I care for you and in the end this friendship will just grow stronger.

There is no ending for us right now and I needed you to know that as you fall farther away from me.

Should I stop to love you

or should I keep moving forward.

Are you a missing key to the answer

I seek behind the doors that are yet opened to me

and should I wait around for them to open.

Or should I move forward and just keep going until I

find a door that is already open and ready for me to

explore.

Maybe one day I will stop and let you love me but for now

I don’t want to be tied down or just maybe I’m not ready for the love to turn sour before my eyes.

I want to savor your taste

like a well aged wine.

The taste so pure and delicious

that the memories always stay so fresh.

I can go over them in mind over and over again

for I will always keep them dear to my heart.

the chill run through my body before I even knew you were in the room.

All the hairs on my arm stood up as you walked through the door

I knew when I felt your eyes roaming the room that you would soon found mine.

We were connected in a way no words could explain it to others but we understood it well now as we continued to grow together.

You were my chill and I was your warmth and together I made it better for you in the winter and you always helped keep me cool in the hot summers days.

He was determined that this time he would prove you wrong

that there wouldn’t be any place left for you to run.

He knew that life sometimes can be too much for you and that

you felt so alone.

But, he was here standing in front of you, proving you wrong for he was always

around and just needed you to tell him what was wrong.

And he would listen and help anyway he could, for it was hard for him to shake you when you pulled away.

He didn’t think it would hurt this much but it did and he would do anything to not feel that pain again.

was on her side as she counted down the moment she would be free

she had to contain her excitement as she quickly walked out the door.

No schedule to follow just doing the things that she loved for the next

two days with no worry insight and no hurry at all either.

She was free and she had so much time on her hand that she was just so excited and

determine to do as much as she could in the time that she had.

For sooner than later she would be walking a straight line with barely anything ways to break out of the cage she will be in.

So she must be focused now if she was going to accomplish the impossible so  soon.

She had nothing holding her back and she wouldn’t let anything get in her way as her clock started counting down at midnight.
