What do you see

when you look at me today

tomorrow or the next day.

Am I the girl you used to know

or am I someone you just can’t figure out and it’s been more than a minute since you knew me.

The new me and yet I’m still a puzzle to you and not an easy one to solve but you put all your free time to try to figure me out.

Just so that I will let you in just a little bit more at least that’s what you hope will happen soon.

cocoon of blankets trying to forget about the cold that is brewing outside.

Waiting out the winter days in hope for days that are less cold than today.

waiting for the ache in my throat to go away as I drink something hot again today, when will the season of cold feet, aching body and just not in the mood to go out when it’s too cold to enjoy a moment.

For the moment to get out is just wasted as I ended up back inside my cocoon with nothing showing but my eyes as I wait for this time to go by faster than it is right now.

I’ve

always been like a fresh new book hitting the shelfs at a bookstore.

The outside always looking so nice and neat and bright but, if flip a couple of pages.

You will see me for me and sometimes the words are beautiful and worth spending time to read them and get to know them.

But, other times there is a sadness and darkness you are not sure you want to explore much farther than maybe a few chapters.

Before you have to step back and catch your  breath and do something to clear your mind if just for a second or two.

Like any good story there are great and sad moments and sometimes the cover doesn’t truly tell you how deep the story can and will go until you get to the end.

You always

told me to wish upon a star and everything I ever wanted would come true.

Being with you was all I ever wished for.

As I stand here among the big star and the blue lights and stars on the tree.

All I can think about is the time I had with you because of those stars I had wished on every night that we spent laying outside on our blanket.

Just looking at the stars and not ever really saying much to each other for we didn’t have to speak to know what we had and what these nights meant to us.

Tonight you are missed but, I know soon we will spend more nights staring at the stars and knowing that sometimes wishes do come true.

Floating

in between a place of hot and cold.

The feel of cold feels so refreshing and cools down my skin

after feel so hot that I could burst into flames any minute now.

The cold surrounds me and no matter how much I wrap up I can still feel it wrapped so tightly around me.

And just when I feel the chill has subsided the heat takes over and even when I cool back down I become cold all over again and the cycle leaves me so weak.

How much longer before things are back to normal.

many signs telling you what is coming up ahead and what to watch out for but, instead of looking and reading those signs.

You decide to deface them and treat them as if they are your canvas to make your art on and in hopes that they will take them down and let you do your own thing.

You don’t want to be caution, you just want to go through everything at your own speed with no care for what everyone else has to say at this point forward.

SIGNS!

I am

hopeful to what this year has to offer.

I am ready for the challenges and days when things are easy.

I know that there will be struggles and I accept the things that I can and can’t change because I am alive and I am grateful for the things I can do.

I am ready for today and the next day and I’m ready to explore so much more and not do the same things I did last year.

I am ready to step onto a new path and walk down it with a smile on my face with so much hope that nothing can bring me down on this walk of faith and hopeful beginnings.

those black boots

and to feel good on your feet

as you danced the night away.

This was your moment to show them what you are truly made of.

You know what you are capable of but you don’t know how to stand up and take what is yours.

So today in your nice boots take back what is yours and the strength to keep everyone motivated and to strive to do the best you have always tried to offer.
