As I stand

Here today, I feel blessed to end another year.

My eyes and ears are open as I wait for what today will bring as we celebrate what a year is and embrace what is yet to come.

All I can think of is what a year is and how I won’t stop now, for next year will be better as I continue to focus on myself.

For my growth can help others and as I listen to what my Lord wants me to do.

To continue connecting and embracing who I am and what I stand for and what I stand against.

I know, the hours will seem long, but the day will fly by.

And at midnight, I will start a clean sheet and walk on the path that feels right.

I wonder who else will join me and say farewell to those who didn’t make it but whose memories will be carried on for years to come.
