I know you

You will do more than you are doing now and even though your guard is up.

You will let it down and let me in because our bond is there to grow.

Like a flower, I know I have to be delicate with you, or you will shy away, leaving me to wait for you to bloom again.

Like each season, you change the way you react to certain things.

As fall comes, all you want to do is sleep as the cold wraps around you.

And your hands are cold, and something inside you is trying to break out.

So you let it out and watch in awe as if you had only known soon what beauty awaited to be released.

And how you wish you had let your guard down sooner than you would have had more time with me

Setting it

As fall comes through, so do the decorations.

And the feeling of needing to relax plows on.

Until you have some hope that things will finally slow down.

And you can crawl up on a cold, windy day and read a good book.

And forget about how cold it is outside or inside, for all you want to do is sleep now.

You keep your body warm and hope to stay that way as you sleep the day away in hopes of being ready for a long night at work.

Where Halloween decorations pop up here and there and make you realize fall is here and the year is quickly passing you by.
