Daily Prompt: Artificial

Her artificial smile was pasted on her face as she saw you walk in the door with a brunette on your shoulder.

She didn’t think you would move on that fast and even though you did she didn’t want you to see her sweat or frown about something that had nothing to do with her anymore.

So she smiled so hard as she ringed you both up and said have a nice day while trying her hardness to not cry or get mad.

When all she could see was a beautiful girl smiling in her face wrapped up in the man who use to be hers.

She didn’t watch them walk away but if she did maybe she would have seen the sadness on his face as he tried to hold it together and pretend he was happily over her.

When all he wanted was her back in his life but, she made it pretty clear he wasn’t worth her time anymore and that he wasn’t mature enough for her to think about a future together.
