Daily Prompt: Fortune

Advertisements

He thought visiting his friends for the weekend would improve his fortune for lately things hadn’t been looking up.

So when he arrived and the sun was out and shining so bright, he felt that was a sign that everything was looking up.

So he smiled at everyone he walked by and gave what little he had to the homeless lady he saw hunch over with a cup in her hand.

He walked up to his friends new apartment building and. just as he was walking around the corner he bumped into a pretty brunette woman and that moment changed his life forever.

For that day he gained more than just a great visit with his friend but also gained the fortune of meeting the love of his life and moving to a place that gave him new hope in life.

His anger

is eating him alive as he realizes his losing more than he can take

he didn’t think she would walk away without a goodbye.

But, she did and it sadden him for he never meant to close her out but he was so angry at himself for what he did.

That he just knew she wouldn’t accept him now that she saw the anger he had been hiding this whole time.

But, he was wrong as he saw the hope in her eyes days before he heard the news.

He didn’t know what to do but he knew he had to do something or he would lose her forever.

He tried to reach out to the ones close to her and with some luck he found out when she was leaving and what time she needed to be at the airport.

He dressed nicely and got to the airport early and waited nervously for her to arrive, an hour went by and the anticipation was killing him.

But, soon he saw her friend Tina car pull up and then she got out and got her bags and hugged Tina good-bye.

She was so beautiful with her long curls out and wrapped up from the cold and windy morning weather.

But, where he stood he could see she was not herself and it hurt for he didn’t know if he was because of him or something he missed out on.

The minute she walked into the airport and started to walk to check in, he moved quickly to block her path.

And as those brown eyes looked up at him with shock and a slight grin appeared on her face.

He knew he had made the right move and so he spilled out all the things he should have said to her before they grew apart.

And in the end she said she forgave him and she hoped they will stay connected while she was gone and she hoped nothing but the best for him and would see him in a month or two.

That was the day their friendship grew to unbreakable and she forever remembered that day he risk it all just to make sure they stayed close and true to each other.

For he knew she always had his back like he had hers and, so they became more than friends, they became family.

Nights

Advertisements

when I’m dreaming and I’m running all alone but then you come along  my protector.

At first I was scared of you my gray wolf but now I look forward to seeing you at night.

Your eyes shine in the moon light and I can’t seem to look away.

Your teeth are so sharp and white and sometimes you run through the woods with a silly grin on your face.

You’re my companion and I enjoy our time together. The forest is a big place but I know you will always keep me safe.

No danger is big enough to stop you from protecting me.

The dreams seem to continue on every night and I hope they don’t end.

But then one day I woke up and went outside to get my mail and I saw you on my neighbors sons motorcycle and I knew I had found you in real life.

As I got to know Sean I realize he was having the same dream as me and now finally together our nightly walks are always just nice.

Safe when holding your hand as we walk on the trail  that leads to a wooded area, I never sense danger or fear anything for I know I’m safe with you.

She floated by me with so much grace

you would think she had been a ballerina.

So much confidants radiating off of her as

she walks on and smiles at one of her friends.

As they laugh about something and continue to talk

her friend gets a phone call and says she has to go.

As she turns to wave to her friend

She sees me looking and, smiles so brightly then walks

right towards me and says hi.

From that moment I knew I was in trouble.

As time goes by I fall for her not knowing how

this could end.

But her smile is worth all the pain I could have to bear

if this doesn’t work out in the end.

ground as you try to bring me down with your words

that poured down on me like I’m caught in a  rain storm.

The words never seem to stop as your voice became so harsh and cruel I didn’t see an ending to this torture you were putting me through.

before you could  tear me down to nothing but shredded pieces of who I used to be.

I won’t let you turn me into some ice queen who stares right through you and everyone else.

I shut down  completely as you continue to go on as if I needed to be taught a lesson.

As my tears began to dry up, I realized why was I wasting my tears and energy on you, when I knew this wouldn’t last.

So as I send you on your way, I like to say thanks for the time but now it’s time for you to go.

Because the sun is coming back out and the storm of your cruelty is over and this rainbow is coming out to shine again.

How could

Advertisements

I not see the signs in front of me

as everything went to red.

Flashing red, rage red was all I could see

that day even when the shock had worn off.

I didn’t want to act without thinking but your words stung so deeply that my body went into defense mood.

Making it hard to stop me as my mouth opened up and made the words you said seem so weak and pointless.

But, before I could ruin you with my words the rage inside me faded as forgiveness heated up inside me.

And I realize it’s time to let go because the cycle we keep going on isn’t getting any better.

The signs are clear now and red flags are waving and I’m waving my white flag as I disappear over the hill of realization.

I saw the ghost today

she was so sad and alone.

Waiting for someone to stop by

And show they care.

But no one ever came and as the wind

blowed and the rain came, and the snow plowed up.

Still she stood there motionless and alone, waiting for people who would never come.

For looking for her was not an option for them and, even though no one came she never gave up hope.

I reached for you but I never seemed able to get to you.
Every time I tried to reach you something was blocking me.

I was starting to get tired and I so badly wanted to give up, but I couldn’t for you needed me to save you.

So I reached for the door knob one more time and instead of pushing this time I pulled and, you fell into my arms.

Saved from the heat, I guess I should have pulled the whole time.

Oh Silly me.

Sally drops her ice cream on a hot day

and she falls to the ground crying for the taste

of the vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream is gone.

And then she starts to say to the melted remains of the ice cream

how sorry she was for dropping it and wasting it for both of them.

Then she dramatically falls to the ground and picks up a flower and lays it in the melted mess than skips away for another ice cream this time in a bowl.

Dahlia was such a lovely name at least that’s what her mother thought.

But as Dahlia begun to grow up the more evil she became.

To little jokes or pranks you thought were cute at five but,at fifteen she was out of control.

The struggle to raise such a girl was hard on her mother.

Every time you turned around she had antlers on her head showing you  who she truly was.

She had accepted the darkness in her life longtime ago and the need for being bad flowed through her veins everyday.

The evil inside her was Methuselah and Methuselah felt like it was someone who was years beyond her age.

Her mother had a Presentiment moment that lead her to take an evasive action to help get rid of the evil inside her daughter.

Her mother searched high and low for her but could not find Dahlia.

Who was busy across town at a low-key bar hanging with her barkeep friend, enjoying drink after drink.

Until the drinks started to leave a nasty residual in her month, so she asked for water and so sobered up.

As Dahlia walked to her car, she begun to feel like someone was watching her in the darkness of the night.

So many shadows to hide in until they could pluck her off the street.

So she picked up her pace and just as she got to her car, she froze as a hand reached out and plucked the evil right out of her.

Soon the sunrises and Dahlia was never the same.

It was such a beautiful day outside

that Sam just had to go for a walk.

As the sun was out and shining bright

and the birds were singing and everything seemed so wonderful.

That Sam didn’t notice the little gray cloud who was waiting in the background with a smile on its face.

Waiting for the rain to come and ruin Sam’s day.

And so a couple of hours later the rain came down so hard that Sam had to run to find cover.

And he could find was a small run down cabin and didn’t really want to knock on its door.

But, had no choice if he wanted to get out of this horrible storm the cabin was his only hope.

As he reached the cabin he could see little candles burning in the window.

He knocked on the door and a little old frail lady opened the door.

She smiled up into his face and offered him to come in out of the rain.

And Sam was never seen again.

And so as you got older and started to like princes.

You realized it wasn’t just you who had to like him.

And soon your father was forbidding you from seeing that guy and your heart was crushed.

So you rebelled against your father and sneaked out and saw that boy.

Making your father threat of being forbidden to see the one you like, a joke on him.

The photo was defaced so bad that at first

I couldn’t see the familiar handsome face I always saw

When walking through the front door.

She had destroyed everything that had been so precious to

Me and you.

As I  looked around the apartment she had smashed so many other

Things that it became so tiresome to think about how much more would need to be cleaned up.

I later learned she was in the league of crazy women and destroy things was her specialty.

A week later she came back and cornered the management and landlord into telling her where we moved.

But they held their ground and didn’t let her know anything.

That day is still heartrending yo me to think about and to know we had to leave the place we occupied just to be safe was nerve wrecking.

As time goes by I start to relax and enjoy our new place and hope the next girl or women you date doesn’t turn like sediment floating in the bottom of your ice tea-cup.

But dissolves when the relationship ends or at less accept  that something’s  are not meant to last and she doesn’t rakefire  when it starts to get late or were having too much fun.

In a small village there was a girl name Lilla or they called her “the eyes of her people.”

Everyone from young to old came to her during the week.

But one of her busy’s days were on Saturday when people would  travel far to see her.

So they too could know what’s to come of their life.

Being prophecy was hard for Lilla, for sometime the things she predicted were sad and such a terrible lost.

But she knew she had to strong for her people and, one day her daughter or son would be strong for the people when she’s long gone.

So on this long busy Saturday Lilla put a smile on her face and embraced the weight the prediction  would bring her and her clients.

The end.
