Daily Prompt: Feast

Advertisements

A feast of words are about to begin

as everyone gets up and starts to find

their  inspiration to write.

The reader will eat up the words as they read each poem, short story, book etc.

The feast will last for hours, maybe even days and weeks and then end maybe in a month.

But in reality the feast will last forever for the reader will always come back for more.

For a reader is always hungry for more and once satisfied, they will always try to stay on that reader high.

It was such a beautiful day outside

that Sam just had to go for a walk.

As the sun was out and shining bright

and the birds were singing and everything seemed so wonderful.

That Sam didn’t notice the little gray cloud who was waiting in the background with a smile on its face.

Waiting for the rain to come and ruin Sam’s day.

And so a couple of hours later the rain came down so hard that Sam had to run to find cover.

And he could find was a small run down cabin and didn’t really want to knock on its door.

But, had no choice if he wanted to get out of this horrible storm the cabin was his only hope.

As he reached the cabin he could see little candles burning in the window.

He knocked on the door and a little old frail lady opened the door.

She smiled up into his face and offered him to come in out of the rain.

And Sam was never seen again.

Daily Prompt:Drive

Driving down this road called life

can be hard when some roads are more

bumpy than others.

Or longer than others and it just seems like you will never get

to where you wish to go or hope to go.

You’re constantly having to change directions for you went the wrong way.

You can’t seem to make up your mind, or what you decide ends up being the wrong decision and you end up in a situation that is hard to come back from.

Sometimes that drive to your destination is what guides you to figuring out who or what you want to become.

But it’s really the drive inside you that keeps pushing you along when the path becomes narrow and only few walk down the way you are going.

Maybe the narrow way isn’t so bad, for today things are looking up as you drive down the road with that voice inside you that is telling you.

You’re finally going the right way and doing the right thing.

And all you feel is at peace with a smile on your face the wind whipping through your hair, today couldn’t have been a greater day.

Daily Prompt: Unpredictable

Advertisements

Everything seems so different every time I’m around.

I can’t predict what’s going to happen as the night goes on.

I don’t know if I like this unpredictable side of you.

Maybe if only there was something that stayed the same.

Maybe than I would feel okay

And when I see your smile I know that’s what I was looking for and, now I know I can deal with all the unpredictable things in life.

Because your smile will always ground me in the things that I know are predictable.

Daily Prompt: Nightmare

You shock me to my core and the fear of what woke me up.

Feels so real that I can’t shake the feeling that it’s still close by.

Watching and waiting for me to relax and fall back to sleep before it strikes again.

It haunts me at night and sometimes when I’m lucky I don’t have nightmares.

But, when I do have them it feels so real that the images play in my mind over and over again.

Sometimes they fade away and I don’t ever think them again.

Nightmares used to haunt me with monsters and aliens.

Now they haunt me with reality and I can’t tell you what’s more frighten.

Daily Prompt: Storm

They say the worst storms come out of nowhere and there is a little warning of it coming and when it hits, it hits hard.

I stand outside in the open field as the storm inside me starts to build up its strength.

As it gets stronger I can feel my insides begin to heat up.

As I’m being pulled in so many directions, I don’t know who to yell at to stop the pain.

It’s becoming too much as the walls in my life crumble to the ground.

The force is so strong I’m knocked on my butt and, I know the smartest thing to do is lay down and  not get back up.

But, I’m to stubborn to let anything keep me down.

And as the pain shoots though every part of my body, I take each step one at a time.

I keep fighting and even when I fall I get back up for this storm inside of me won’t be the end of me.

No matter how many storms are to come next.

Daily Prompt: Journey

Life is a journey that can sometimes be rocky.

Like a cruise once you’re on there is no getting off.

So as the boat of life takes you on a journey. That  will most likely be one big surprise after another.

Just laugh when it gets to the point of no return and you just really want to get off this darn boat.

But hey, hang in there because the destination is always worth waiting for.

The journey is always full of test and joys in life so always stick it out because, we’re all on a journey towards something.

Daily Prompt:Guest

Advertisements

As a guest of someone’s house, you may be nervous because

you don’t know what rules they may have as you walk through those doors.

But you try your best to respect them, as you walk in like you’re in a crime scene

and you try to avoid the expensive things like it’s the evidence to a crime.

And no way do you want your finger prints on anything that can and will be traced back

to you if it ends up broken or validated.

You sit down when told where to sit out of fear those white couches aren’t meant for guest or, when they tell you to take off your shoes at the door.

You begin to think about do my socks match or did I check for holes and oh no my feet smell or shoes and will they be able to tell.

The horror of embarrassing yourself at their house and never being invited again or, it being so boring that you don’t want to come back but they invite you again at the end of the night.

One could be delighted to be a guest or horrified of the possibility of finding something out that will change them forever.

Being a guest sometimes is nerve wrecking but, sometimes you get lucky and you end up having the best time.

So be very cautions but once inside relax a little and enjoy the time of someone making you feel welcome for a chance.

Daily Prompt: Cowardice

Sometimes I’m want to be brave

and let it all out.

Say the words that would set me free

but I’m not brave enough to do it.

Sometimes being a coward isn’t such a bad thing.

When you miss out on something that never would have worked out.

But, now maybe it’s time to be brave and speak up and face the fears hiding inside.

Daily Prompt: Desert

You’re like a desert when you get angry the heat coming from you is so hot.

That I have to drink tons of water and nothing seems to cool me off from your heat.

It gets so bad that  you become the mirage of a person I used to know.

And I begin to see a mirage of things that you don’t do, playing in front of my eyes.

And as you smile at me I don’t see who you truly are anymore.

Your desert ways have fried my brain and I’m living in a world that doesn’t exist.

Daily Prompt: Glass

Life is like glass, sometimes it gets

broken into little pieces.

And as you sweep up the mess to move on for better things.

You may miss some pieces and so the memories stay with you for lifetime.

As a reminder to not make the same mistake again.

But some pieces of glass stay stuck in a wound that never seems to go away.

And every time someone does something that triggers that wound.

You feel the pain too your toes and the memories are so strong, you can’t seem to be able to shake the off.

And so you tiptoe through life hope hoping not to cross any lines that may lead to glass breaking in your life.

For the pains of those cuts are too much for you to handle for a lifetime.

Daily Prompt: False

False information is a maze of lies, and with people sometimes you have to find out who told the lie in the first place and, how they told it to see where the lie begun.

And then line up the facts and see if any facts changed as it traveled from  mouth  to mouth, for every person will not always remember the facts and soon nothing makes sense.

Lying about something only leads to more hurt, you we get caught and even if you feel  sorry and didn’t mean for it to go on for so long.

It never ends well because false information doesn’t lead to the truth or anything good.

False information is you heading straight for a dead-end and once you trapped there is no way out.

Daily Prompt: Darkness

  The darkness dances around me

trying to confuse and trick me into coming

with him.

But I know in the light is where I’m meant to be,

so dance circle around the darkness trapping it in

a ball of light and as it screams to be let free.

The darkness slowly begins to get smaller and smaller

until it becomes one with  the light.

Another day the light outsmart the darkness is a day

I smile about and, keep in my memories to use another

day for the battle is not over yet.
