It would be so easy to stop and breathe and honestly look at myself.

But what if what I see isn’t what I want to see after all my hard work?

What if the person I see in the mirror is the same, and even though change is hard, not everything will stick?

And will I be okay with knowing the past can come and bite me even when I think I’m over the pain it once caused me?

Maybe some things in my life don’t have an answer yet.

But I will see it through, for life is all about ups and downs.

Whether I like them or not.

hide from the truth

As your emotions overflow like a flooded river during a bad storm

You can accept that today you are feeling down and that tomorrow may be better.

Or you can ignore it and hide under your covers until the feeling disappears.

But that doesn’t mean it won’t come back worst than before, so please face it head-on, as I hope tomorrow will be better.

So cold even without the snow

But sometimes, seeing something so innocent as snow falling down makes you happy.

But other times, it could delay your planned fun as it could get slippery and dangerous out on the road.

Winter comes and goes, but sometimes the snow comes and comes down hard.

Like some choices in life, you don’t get to plan or even want them at the time.

But even in winter, something good comes out of it.

Happy International women’s day!

Women with an overflowing river of emotions sometimes hide those feelings deep down

So you can stand tall and proud and strong

For this world smells out weakness like a predator in the night waiting for you to fall, but you don’t

You accept your sensitivity and embrace how and when you feel things.

Not just because you are a woman but because you are true to yourself.

And as a woman, you will not carry the weight of society on your shoulder anymore.

You will be you, and you will pick up other women when they are down, for leaving anyone behind isn’t an option.

You want to let her know she is not alone, and you want her to know what seems impossible and hurtful will heal, and you will overcome it all in your time.

So slow down and be you, for those that matter will always be around.
