My way back to you

With a cup of hot tea I begin to read books

I never finished because I got distracted by the many other things in this world.

To focus on the words in front of me with no desire to pick up my phone and get lost in the internet or my many phone games.

To breathe in the actual scent of printed paper.

To be inspired and delighted by the words in front of my face and to be able to take a sticky note and save some of that wisdom for another day.

I want to allow time to relax and be true as I get lost in a good book or two.

And even as I slip out of my present to be present with the words in front of me I know it isn’t all just for the pleasure of reading.

Because I’ve learned even in most fiction of books I still learn a thing or two.

Three Line Tales, Week 162

read today is not the question running through your head right now but, what to read when there is so much to choose from right in front of me right now.

To be able to get lost in words that will touch your soul and you will surely remember from time to time those great words that you read.

But, for now you must pick at least two or three books and go home before the weather gets bad again and just enjoy a good read.

Time goes by fast sometimes but, as a child I loved to read and learn new words in each page that I turned.

Reading wasn’t something I loved to do but, not you can’t find without a book or kindle or phone in my hand reading something.

I am old now but, my adventures are not over as I travel between each page that I read and I am lost to the world when I read.

I love to lose myself and am very grateful for the time I have to read.

100 Word Wednesday: Week 70

So many stories that are being told on those shelf’s and I’ve read them all and yet I need to read more to understand so much more about this thing called life.

It’s funny how when you get lost in a book that you are not thinking about learning anything in this book just wanting to get your mind off your troubles.

You start to grab at each word and connect to almost all the characters because someone has to have been through what you went through in your lifetime.

Captive by your words as I sit down and read a good book and completely zone out as I get sucked in to each page.

As the story unfolds right in front of my eyes I just can’t look away and when I get to the last couple of pages.

I just can’t put it down until I know what has happened and how it ended and then I can go to sleep and wake up and wait around for the next book in the series to come out.

And while I wait I fall into another book and read that one until my reading obsession is satisfied.

Like handcuffs once I am locked in to a new book that is so good it’s hard to let go and get out of a story so captivating it stays with months later.

I’m hiding away

Advertisements

From it all for  I just need a place

to escape.

And so here I am, lost in this book and the things

running through my mind and I don’t seem to sense anymore.

I’m hiding away from it all, but soon I’ll be done

With the books and then what do I do then

Besides face the things I’m hiding from in

The first place.
