The need

to relax is strong

as I sit here sipping on some tea

Watching some of the people of this world float away in hot air balloons.

I realize it’s been a while since I’ve observed the world.

Lately, I’m always on the move , making me miss out on so much.

I just hope I can continue to slow down and enjoy the things I used to love to do.

For I know, tomorrow is not promised, and if today is all I have, I do it all and go to sleep with a smile on my face knowing I left nothing to chance.

To Be

Advertisements

like red is to be fierce, bold, and seen

And just maybe that’s what I like to be

But in truth, I’m more like the pale little blue chair. There, but no one cares.

I am not the focal point of the photo.

And I am okay with that, but sometimes I want to be seen and heard and not care what the outcome or judgment may be thrown at me.

All I know is that I want to be true to myself so that I will be in the front or the back, but I will know my worth doesn’t matter if others see me, but that I see me.

still and be one with all that is around you is hard for us

But if we could be as still as a bird on a flower

would we ever deeply miss certain things in life?

Or would we see what we are missing and find a way to make it a part of our lives

These are the questions that run through my mind as I am still as I wait for my dog to stop sniffing everything I can move again.

But still a part of me wishes to be still and just enjoy the things that make my life great and peaceful and at the same time forget about what others have to say.

And just live my life the way it should be, for at the end of the day I will always have to live with myself but everyone else only gets to see a few pieces of me.

World I’m turning all around

Not knowing which way to go

Or what words to say as my fingers hit the keyboard.

The need to write is there, but my mind remains blank.

I try everything to find the words that feel right, only to erase them once again.

Only time will tell when I will finally hit the publish button again.

Oh, I wish to hit that button again as if my life desires depend on it.

Up in so many things in my life

As I start to clean up the things in my life that don’t stand for what I want or need, It seems the more of a mess I make.

And I wonder if I will ever make a clear path through the mess I call my life.

What I do know is I’m enough and strong enough to get through anything I put my mind too.

And sometimes, the most frustrating things in my life are the biggest lesson for me to learn and accept.

Because I’m growing, I realize I can do this independently if I have to.

A master

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Of all words

A storyteller that enslaved you with my words so that you couldn’t stop reading my work.

At five, to be a writer was cute stories and the possibility to create without fear of rejection.

Now the most significant criticism is me as I feel each piece out as if each piece steals a part of me each time I lay down a word or line.

Sometimes I drain myself like a well that seems bottomless and helpless.

But I always recharge and find my way back to the words that sell my soul and make me a writer to this day.

Changed within me and I’m not sure how to feel right now.

I am torn between falling apart and putting up my walls to protect myself from the strange things happening around me.

I can’t fall back into my old ways, but I can’t keep saying yes to all the new things that sound too good to be true, either.

So here I stand, trying to be firm but not sure what to do about anything at this time.

If only

How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

If only I had said no to the things I knew would pile on more stress which allowed my dreams to feel more hollow and empty.

And in the end, all it did was make me question myself and if I was meant to do this or am I being naive to keep going forward.

Saying no and waiting for the right opportunity saved my dream and sanity.

Recognize me

Through my words

Through my pain

Through my fears

Through my strength

As I show up even when I don’t want too and it be the best thing I did.

As the doubt washes away and I let go and have fun and open up.

I realized I couldn’t live in my shadows anymore, for I saw myself for the first time.

And I don’t want to hide anymore, not when I’ve finally sparked the fire inside me that won’t die out because I’m being my authentic self.

To be this open, I know, is a risk, but there is no going back for me now, and I hope and pray I will make it.

I know I’m not the only one believing in me now, and with their support, I can make it to the finish line, but for now, I will accept the present so I have a future to look forward to.

It is where I felt at home

with your love, you gave me strength and safety

and even as I do things on my own, you will always be there for me

Knowing there is no end in sight with you as we start a new beginning.

Leap into the unknown and let myself be me

For it is time to step out of the comfort of my bubble and be seen.

As more than what I let the people in my world see.

To embrace the unknown even when it is scary and risky.

Maybe like before, things will work out for me, or it will be so much better.

I guess I won’t know unless I close my eyes and leap for it all and hope I land and not fall before I get a chance to have it all.

Know I needed to get up, dance, and let the stress wash away.

As the frustration of these last two weeks got the best of me

As the music played and we danced to the beat, the tears and fears poured out of me as we danced the night away.

I knew I would be okay for you two would always have my back, and next time, I won’t wait so long to let you two in and let the things that bother me out.

A kind is all we ever want to be because standing out is what makes us unique.

So having a talent or a gift is something we strive for all our lives.

In hopes of making a difference so we can be proud of ourselves and when tomorrow doesn’t come, we know we left our mark on life.

And we can smile at our accomplishments, and if tomorrow does come, we can continue to work hard at what we love.

And while leaving in the goodness of our present moments, we may forget it could end sooner than later.

And so I try to count all my blessings and enjoy the life I have because complaining just isn’t worth it anymore.

Now I hope, and I dream and put in the work to get it to do so there is nothing left to wonder what if about.

I didn’t know

I needed to hear those kind words today.

But the words touched me in a way that I can’t go on feeling the same way I have before.

I can’t keep holding myself back from the possibility that something significant may happen to me if I try.

That I am open to the things, I’ve closed myself off to.

That hiding hasn’t made me feel any better than if I was in sight of you.

One day it could be me, and even today, it’s not.

I’m okay with that, but I know I’m open to it all, no matter what happens from this moment forward!
