You stood

Advertisements

there looking at me with so much love something I hadn’t seen in a long time

the moment seemed like a fairytale.

Too good to be true or real, My heart beating so fast as you walked towards me and opened your arms.

And nothing I could do could stop myself from falling into those arms and feeling  like I was finally home.

You whisper in my ear to let it all out and just like that you were my strength as I became so vulnerable just then in your arms.

You carried me from the darkness and into the light as if I weighted nothing.

Without the baggage I left in the dark, life seemed much easier to take and breathe in as the day went on and spent sometime with you.

I didn’t know I had been waiting for this moment until this moment came along and slapped me in the face.

Light

my way to the path

of the righteous.

For I don’t want to fall back into the darkness

anymore for I have come a long way.

I am not the girl I used to be and every time

I think about it.

It always brings happy tears for the chains that used to hold me back

have long been broken and I won’t ever go back for it is not me that leads this life anymore.

I have never been more grateful than I was when the light came and saved me.

Now  the darkness just can’t hold a candle to me.

The darkness is like a shadow it never seems to last long .

I smile in the light and I breathe in the light and, the baggage I used to carry has been left in the darkness where it belongs.

Daily Prompt: Shine

Advertisements

I want to shine my light on you and take away all your darkness

But I don’t know if my light will be enough to take away all your pain.

But even if I feel it won’t be enough, that won’t stop me from trying to shine my light on you and take away as much darkness as I can.

Knowing that some of your pain was gone would make me believe that anything is possible and that one day your light will shine bright again too.

My friend.

And that’s

Just who you are my shining star

You light up the sky when it’s so dark.

They say you’re not like the others for you

shine so bright that even in the daylight your light

stays on.

People are in awe of you and want to know why you’re so different and,

some call you a freak and want nothing to do with you.

They say what your able to do is impossible and that you shouldn’t be

allowed to be so great at everything.

You love to do backflips and jump and when it’s night-time you like take long walks for

you’re not afraid of the dark.

The night is your best friend and you feel at home when all the lights are out and you shine and shine and no one can take their eyes off of you for your best thing around.

No storm can make me scared when you’re around for the light in you will not go out and so the darkness will not ever be around.

Lights out!

Advertisements

I can feel the lights going off inside of me as the darkness starts to crawl in.

And I shut down for the care is gone and in its place is a girl no one knows.

There’s no joy in her eyes or her smile and if you stare hard enough you will see the emptiness in her eyes.

The girl I used to be is locked up in cell wishing she could come out but the world has shut her down and so she gave up the fight of wanting the joy in life.

She floats around the shell of the person she used to be.
The helpful, joyful, caring person gone in seconds and trapped for a lifetime.

Here I am

with my  arms wide open

ready to let it all in.

I’m not afraid to put it

out there my words, myself.

As the sun shines down on this day

I am who I am suppose to be and I’m

so full with truth, with love and understanding today.

That I feel like I could burst any minute now and

shower you all with the light and joy inside me

that I want to smile at you all.

And hope my smile just breaks through the sadness,

the disappointment, the loneliness or whatever emotions

your feeling.

And make you feel like even when you feel like it’s too much that

I’m here a friend, who may be a stranger but true to knowing life

may not bring a smile to your face everyday.

But that you can pocket my smile, and my joy, my light and pull it out

when you feel yours isn’t quite strong enough today.

What’s your sign (Free Flow Friday’s Writing Prompt)

It’s Friday and its Free flow Fridays with Laura again! You can find this weeks writing prompt on her website: Free Flow Fridays I’m so excited to see what I can come up with for this exercise.

My billboard would say:

To be happy and positive, even when things are not going your way.

To not give up on your dreams that make you feel so alive again and again.

For when you believe in yourself and your talent.

That’s all that matters, it’s your voice and your chance to make it.

That every accomplishment is important, no matter how big or small.

Your light can only dim out if you let it, so let’s all shine as bright and strong as we want too.

Warmth & the Quality of Light

Advertisements

The light and warmth I was looking for

I thought it would be found in a hot cup of tea on this cold day.

But I found it when I stopped looking for it

And as it shined down on me, I was at peace.

Nothing bad seemed to matter as the light shined down on me

and my day was forever changed.
