The storm

Advertisements

Arrived again, and the lighting and thunder came along too.

And inside, I was safe as the lighting lit up the sky.

And all I could think of was where we’re you as the rain poured down and the low rumble of the thunder could be heard.

And then, like the lightning, my phone lit up, and there you were saying you were safe and sound.

As my heart calmed, so did the storm, and soon all was well again.

There you

Stand in the storm

So calm with no fear

That the rain could bring you down at any moment.

So strong and so beautiful you stand through it all and even when the pain is too great.

You still fight through it and sometimes you keep it all to yourself.

And I wonder how much longer you can stand on your own this time my friend.

What am

Advertisements

I waiting for as I stand in the doorway and watch the storm pouring down outside.

I know that I need to get out there and do what needs be done.

But, the rain is pouring down so hard I just don’t know if I will make it make in one piece.

Is it worth getting wet over?

I know that this rain is not going anywhere and so I think I’ll just wait it out and hope for the best.

As I close the door and go back inside I realize that waiting is my best bet at this point as I see more rain than anything else outside.

This storm is here to stay and right now I just have to respect that it’s not going anywhere and waiting it out inside won’t hurt as I did want to have a nice quiet day inside.

You can come into my life and try to destroy everything that you think matters the most to me.

But, the truth is the light that burns inside of me would not fade even when you think you have taken it all from me and I’m about to fall.

I will jump back up and grab on to the last thing you thought wouldn’t help me and I will build everything back up and make them ten times stronger than before.

So the next time you come around with your evil smile and laugh that haunts me some nights.

I will be prepared and ready to out shine you this time for you didn’t break me you just built me up to know that I am not as fragile as I once thought I was.

I can’t with stand whatever you throw my way and I will slap away the things that try to trick me and lock out the things that want in only to destroy everything they see me look at.

Daily Prompt: Companion

My companion right now is my dog as we sit

inside as the severe Thunderstorm does it work outside.

The rain is heavy as it beats on windows and slams on-screen doors,

begging to be let in.

It just wants to play and wash over everything you own and letting you

know material things can be replace but you can’t.

So be safe out there in this storm because it wants a companion too

and it’s best to just not let it have its way.

I’ll take my chances with the companion I have today safe and sound inside

my little home where the rain can’t hurt me as long as I have faith that my God will

keep his children safe and not to worry about the things I can’t control.

Daily Prompt: Sky

Sky your above me and your lovely on a sunny day

But I know when you’re in a mood for you turn light grey or

Dark grey and then your rain falls heavily down on me or just the

Grass.

And when your mad you rain comes down heavily  and then the wind and thunder

And lightening come in full force.

And I have to go inside to protect myself for your unwelcome storm

That is so rough and unpredictable.

But  then after the storm usually outcomes a beautiful rainbow and,

That I look forward too after you the sky rain down on me.

Even when you don’t  look so bright sky I will always look forward to

Look up at you day and night for as long as my eyes can see you.
