so long ago that I was playing on a playground and it keeps me busy as I ran around with my sisters and friends, to just laugh and enjoy the little things in life.

To just enjoy the sun shining so brightly and the fresh air all around us as we played for hours and then the minute the street lights came on we would run home and rest up for tomorrow would be another opportunity to play again.

The joy of being young and hopeful that my future was so bright and nothing would end up getting in my way.

Childhood!

a kid I liked to play outside, inside and my head was always in the clouds daydreaming.

There was no stress other than not being good at reading and well public speaking was something I wanted to avoid.

As I became a teenager there was lots of stress with homework and what not to do. To stay on the right track and still have fun.

And one day to be done with high school and go on to college, so many plans and so many of them changed overtime.

To becoming an adult and realizing so much time had gone by and now stress was like my best friend always around.

I’m still daydreaming but, my eyes are more open to things going on around me and my heart more protected than before.

So many stages in life to go through but, if I didn’t go through them would I truly be me right now.

Someone who cares but doesn’t sit around waiting for anyone to come to their senses.

I am still a kid at heart but, now I have so many responsibilities that I must be an adult to who does what I need to do and to not let anyone get in my way.

Childhood you were left in the past for I didn’t need to hold you anymore when my days were hard and I just couldn’t understand how cruel people could be.

I knew that the day would come when I could hand this all without the comfort you provided for me.

It was time for me to be a big kid and let go of my childhood toys and embrace the new things the world had to offer me for these toys were farther more durable than you ever were to me.

Daily Prompt: Zoo

A place that doesn’t stop being amazing and interesting even when you grow up,

the experience of seeing many  animals that you can’t see everyday.

You take pictures and make memories at the zoo with the people you love and care for, you take your children there  to let them see the many wonders of the world.

And for you want them to take in everything they possibly can, you respect the animals and try to not stress them out  as you watch them in their day-to-day routines.

Your eyes grown wide as you see a panda or two, then you may see a lion and many more things.

You try to not think too much about the things that you have yet to see for you don’t want to psych yourself out in the end.

But, the long day of fun because tiring and you retire to you vehicle and move on to what other things out there can bring you joy and more adventure for another.

Daily Prompt: Carousel

As a child the merry-go-round was the ride every kid wanted to go on

with all the wooden horse that were so colorful.

You just wanted to ride them and wave to your parents as they stood off to the side of the ride.

Taking pictures of you having so much fun that when the ride came to a stop, you didn’t want to get off.

But, you did and you begged to go on it again and again.

Until you became to tired and it was time to go home and dream about what an awesome day you had.

Daily Prompt: Childhood

Childhood something I remember

For there were fond memories of fun times.

Times when all I cared about was getting home

And playing with my toys or going outside to play.

My childhood was good even when it had the bad times or

The times I got in trouble for not listening.

Childhood you are a part of my past I will never forget even

If I wanted too.

You bring a smile to my face as I think about all the times a

Younger me ran around or just simply laughing with no care in

the world but knowing I had to be in the house before the streetlights came on.

Childhood you have my memories and so do I but, sadly we grow out of our childhood toys and clothes.

And we become teens then young adults, and adults and then we’re different from before but for the better.

Childhood I will cherish you like an old friendship, the memories of our times of youth will not be forgotten!

Daily Prompt: Giggle

Advertisements

WordPress Daily Prompt for yesterday.

You make me giggle

when we chase each other

around.

Like children again  we have nothing in the world to worry about.

When simple giggles are all we shared.

we’d roll around in the grass not caring if we get dirty.

Just glad to spend time together and to let the giggles fly around.

Until we realize we’re not young anymore, but let’s not let the giggles die away just because of our age.
