Daily Prompt: Uniform

Advertisements

I put on my uniform everyday and paste on my smile

as everyone walks in and out those doors.

I enjoy most of the moments of my day but even I slowly

get tired and want to leave through those doors.

But, when the day ends and I walk away I think about all the people

who walked away happy and those who problems seemed to be solved.

I look forward to being nice and to being there for them even if it’s only in

a little way.

I was holding it all in because I knew if I let you

get to me you would trigger the anger in me.

And it going off on you would be a horrible word bomb detonated by

your ignorance.

So, I nicely smile at you and walk away knowing I didn’t just save myself from going there but you from receiving what you deserved.

I felt good about forgetting about the ugly that came out of your mouth and soon the thought of you was gone as I moved on with my task of the day.

me hope

and everything is so raw

like the tears falling down your face.

You open up for the first time in such a long time

and you start to live again.

With nothing left to say and so much to do

I stand by your side to help you get through it all.

For tomorrow no more tears will fall and nothing but smiles and laughter will be heard

and seen.

You will walk with so much confident and hope that this

year will end just fine for you.

Your heart which was once broken will be fixed and be so much

bigger than before.

You will begin to trust people again but it will take time to open up again

for no one will use what they know about you against you again.

He walked through the halls as if he had no purpose.

He seemed so confused by all the people who seemed to be in such a hurry around him.

He didn’t know why he didn’t have that drive in his life.

He didn’t seem to have anywhere to go and no idea what he really wanted either.

what you could do on your own.

You write and they write until there is nothing left on t he table

but too hearts intertwined making a story become more than just a book

to read and move on from when your done.

It becomes something you remember as you listen to a song and the story

unfolds right in front of you again.

Like you never stopped reading that book and it makes you happy that two authors got together and wrote something that made you go through so many emotions in one day.

Collaborations can be such a wonderful thing and Look forward to read more of them.

so hard to not let your words get to me

but the harshness of each of your words is slamming into me

breaking the wall that protected me for so long.

It used to be you and me against the world and now it’s just me

fighting to keep the balance in my world.

I didn’t think about my future and now as I live in the present

I realize there are things in my future that will be different and I have

to accept this change that is now apart of my life.

There is no going back now and I don’t know if I would at this point for

what is done is done.

voice is such a unique sound  that the moment you open

your mouth to talk or sing.

It’s like hearing angels above singing praise to something

so great and wonderful.

Your blessing that not even you seem to realize on days when you are

down and nothing seems to chill you up.

But, with those little precious eyes she asks her daddy to sing her a song

and you smile and sing with all your heart.

And, in that moment I see you truly alive and  you begin to believe in yourself again.

For you know now that you’re not just fighting your demons for yourself anymore but also for you little angel.

Who looks up to you and you don’t want to disappoint her so early in life or at all.

So you fight like you never fought before and I see the man I fall in love with again and my hope that this time you will stay strong.

so much that my heart is breaking as

I see it all crashing down.

No matter how much time I try to put in between me and you

the end result is not going to look good for us.

I know the pain is eating me up inside but I just can’t bring myself

to say the final goodbye.

I don’t want to put a day or time on when my world will fall apart

I can already feel the tears falling down my face and my heart just turning

so cold and me becoming the shadow of who I used to be.

My smile becoming harder to fake as life throws me nothing but curves my way

I try to gain more strength and be strong and not fall apart this time but it’s not working out that way.

But, I just don’t know what to say to you and yet I know soon we are going to fade from each other life and maybe this time we won’t get a third chance to connect again.

All I know is I miss you and maybe things don’t have to end but talking just doesn’t seem like something we will be doing soon.

The cold air hits me as I start to step out the front door

and so I quickly zip up my coat.

This morning is perfect for a walk to clear my mind and as

I start out my steps are slow as I am still half asleep.

But, soon I am awoken by the smells of the spring flowers and the noises of nature as everything starts to wake up too.

I start to speed walk and soon I’m running and everything is going by so much faster than before and I dont’ have time to stop and enjoy the view around me.

I just want to get back as quickly as possible because I have so much more to say now than I had to say when I left this morning.

All alone

I watch as the world goes by me

like a ghost in my present.

Everyone walks all around me like I just

faded from their memories and all I want to do is not

to dislike them because I care.

But no matter how many times I scream for them to look

at me they just seem to ignore me.

They look me right in the face and smile and walk away taking a part of me with them.

They don’t respond for me but they reach out when they need something.

But, lately the wanting to reach out is slowly fading from me and as I walked down the street.

I notice how light I seem to be walking now

and  I realized that I’ve faded away almost completely.

The hope that I can come back is so small that it will take a

miracle to save me from disappearing and all I can do now is

stand here and wait.

You’re words were such a surprise to me that I  felt a strong jolt go through my body.

I never felt anything like that before and so it took me a minute or two to gather my thoughts and reply back.

But, nothing I thought of seemed like an appropriate response.

And so I simply said give me some time and I will have an answer for you.

Still in a daze I slowly walked away and only looked back at you once.

won’t you believe me

when I say what I had to say

Time is running out and I don’t

know if I will get more time like this again.

Look me in the eye please my time is running out

so the person you see in front of you will be gone.

Please look at me before it’s too late and the sun goes

down and I become the thing, you didn’t want to dream about.

Because, when you wake and the bright green eyes glowing back at you from your

closet.

Won’t be a warning to what is to come next.

So please listen closely and don’t forget any details I tell you

for in the end it could save you from what I may become tonight.

I blindly gave you my heart and I couldn’t seem to focus

on anything but your smile and the way you looked at me.

I blindly trusted you with my heart, my secrets that day not

thinking for one second it would come back to bite me in the butt.

I just couldn’t seem to see past the great smile and the twinkle in your eye

when I walked into the room.

So blinded by the lies that I couldn’t see the truth even if it was right in front of me

The cloud that blinded me that day, still blinds you today as you just couldn’t accept that

I had to walk away that day.

To save what was left of me.

no energy left but I need to talk to you

even though my body is aching and there is no instant reaction.

For me to just go to sleep and just talk to you later.

Yet, I stay up and talk to you and as minutes turn into hours.

I get lost in you again and soon I’ve fallen sleep and the talk decreases to nothing.

As my breathing slows down and I go into a long sleep.

waking up knowing our conversation was cut short.

I wait awhile to talk to you but when I let you in I trust you with my secrets and my tale of my day.

So drained so many things are missed out on that I hope soon I can make time to make things right again.

But, maybe this time my energy won’t come back and I will be forever drained.

Daily Prompt: Prudent

We all seem to want to plan our future and

that means we were all prudent at sometime in our life.

But, we all know now that the future can be planned for all you want

but the outcome sometimes we have no control over.

And so things happen and we are pushed into a new direction.

It would be wise of us to make the smart decision to either follow the new path we are on or we can fight our way back to something that may have just been a pipe dream.

Sometimes the easy choices is right in front of our face and we seem to always pick the harder path only to end up scratching our heads at the end of the day.
