Can You

feel me slipping away from it all

One moment your laughing with me the next I’m gone.

The smile you loved to see and the laugh you loved even more to hear fades away as if it never happened in the first place.

Only you were the one that could hold on to me and than one day I just disappeared and you didn’t even notice because for so long you had been holding on.

Until one day you let go to take a breather and then just like that I was gone.

I was falling so fast that even I didn’t see this coming until I hit the ground and the air left my body.

Broken and alone I laid there hoping someone would find me soon for it was getting so cold down here.

I know we all grow up and certain things get left behind but, I was really hoping I wouldn’t be one of those things.

This feeling of unknown is flowing through me continually and no matter how I try to shake it off.

It just keeps coming back and each time the pain is more intense and as I knee on the ground trying to catch my breath.

The flashes of my life keep coming forward and I realize that there are so many things that I have done.

But, not as nearly as much as I have left to do and will I ever get it all done in the end.

Then I catch my breath and move through life-like nothing was ever wrong.

But, time after time that thought comes back to me and I then look back at what I’ve done and I ask myself is it enough or can I do more.

Can I be more or am I stuck in this moment with no hope of continuous growth in the things I love or in new things to come.

Am I

enough to hold your attention right now.

Am I enough of a friend for you to reach out to me today or tomorrow.

Am I the reason things just don’t seem to workout in the end.

Am I capable of bringing happiness to someone else when I don’t seem to care if I am happy myself.

Am I ever going to see or hear the truth from you.

Am I ever going to forget the people who are from my past but, pop up in my dreams.

Am I doing what I love and yet, I am doing what I dislike just to get by in this lifetime.

Will I become one of those people who are bitter about everything and just be rude because well I can be.

Am I settling when I should be pushing on and knocking down so many more walls, instead of hiding behind them.

Am I worrying about the right things or am I stuck in the same mindset that everyone else is and so now I’m lost.

That bright person who I knew as me seems a million miles away as this dull person walks around with her head down hoping no one sees her for who she is becoming.

For even she doesn’t like who she is now, so angry and sad with no answer to how she can get out of this mess.

Just another

day to feel like I’m breaking all over again.

The strength I thought I had gained feels like a big wave has crashed into it and I’m left with nothing but wet sand.

The wall my rock seems to be gone and everything just feels like a down high battle.

Nothing shines in this place anymore and alone I stand watching all the things I love wash away from me.

I try to hold on to something but, without the things and people I love what is there left for me now.

Everything gone and destroyed and all that is once so pure and bright is now so dirty and dark.

The light I took for granted is now gone and the darkness that I never wanted to welcome in is now the place I call my home.

Gone are the good days and now the bad days and moments show through every step and move I make.

I am the black cat you avoid on those sunny days that you take a walk outside, you smile and take in nature.

But, the moment you see me you cross the street and walk as fast as you possibly can just to avoid catching the bad luck that follows me around.

Daily Prompt: Lecture

I don’t want to be lectured on the things I know I’m not doing right or that I need to get better at.

I just want to focus on the now and right now I’m not in the mood to improve but, I know that I’m good at what I’m doing.

Yes, the time for improvement will come but, I’m just not in the mood for I’m feeling overworked and I’m already pushing myself past the limits that I have just to be as good as I am now.

I sit here trying to focus on other things but, the fun and the energy I need to just relax and enjoy these little things in life.

Seems to be ripped from my mind as I get my head right for work, the little things seem to be collecting dust in the corner of my life and sometimes I forget what it felt like to just be able to relax and breath without the feeling of rushing and stressing.

I want the silent for the talking is becoming too much for me and I don’t want to be reminded about the things I’ve accomplished because now I kind of regret it.

I enrolled in a couple of clubs in high school and they were fun

I got to paint and draw in art club.

We met a couple of times and it was a great time to be with friends and other artist as well.

These moments of great times didn’t last very long for the club soon lost the ability to go on without a teacher to sign up and watch and be in charge of the club.

It soon disbanded and we had to move on to other clubs but, the memories of fun and good times still live on.

Like a cavity in someone’s mouth you are so hollow sometimes

I feel like talking to you is like a deep water well.

It takes way too long for you to acknowledge what I have said and sometimes I think you do it on purpose.

Just so that you can have the last word or for the sole purpose that you are left alone.

You don’t really care for talking or listening to others but, yet you want me to come around and tell you all I have to say.

Someday I don’t want to come around but, then you send me a nice text and my hope that you finally see the truth is quickly shattered around me when I work through your door.

Your running late and all you can think about is how you seem to always be late now.

Apart of you cares and other part really just wants to go back to bed.

Or do anything but what your about to do when you walk through those doors.

You try to put a smile on your face but even you know it’s not really.

Sometimes it’s harder to pretend that you really want to be here today.

When you rather be lost in a good book or watching a good movie.

You watch the time so much that you get frustrated that it’s not time to leave yet.

I stand alone

Advertisements

I stand alone watching over the lake that held so many memories for me, one of my favorite memories is when my father took me out on his boat for the first time.

To teach me how to fish and how no matter how many times I messed up, he told me to keep trying and I will catch something eventually.

We were out there on that boat for most of the afternoon and right as we were getting ready to pack up and call it a day I caught my first fish and even though he was kind of small and we threw him back in the end.

I’ll truly never forget that day with my dad or how that lake played a big part in my life.

I’ve said

my peace and now it’s time for you to let me go.

The memories float away from me as the years pass.

And, yes from time to time something flashes through my mind but I don’t miss you anymore.

So I walk away from the things that remind me of the things no longer in my life.

Sometimes when it’s been one of those days I catch myself thinking about how I miss you.

But, I know the reason your no longer apart of my life and I’ve accepted that truth a longtime ago.

The things that I thought were important and would last forever was quickly smashed that night.

So many pieces that I had to clean up and forget about for today is the present.

Holding on to too much would drive one crazy and the hole that is barely there would be too big to bear alone.

I cared about you and I loved you but, the peace in the long run is the fresh air I breath now.

Words

are not enough when they are all you’ve been hearing lately and the words are well starting to pile up.

You try to figure out who is telling the truth and which words are all just lies to begin with.

You try not to question everything that is going on around you but it’s hard to not let the doubt inside and once its there it’s harder to walk away from.

The words that you cherished the most now may just be the words that bring down your walls and leave you more helpless than you’ve ever been before.

Daily Prompt: Brilliant

Your words are always so brilliant that it makes me want to dug deeper and write things with more meaning.

I get lost in all the words you write everyday and I wonder just what you do to create something so great.

So much meaning behind each word that once I read one poem, I have to write them all and in each piece I am inspired and looking forward to what may flow from my mind to my fingers.

As I write a brilliant piece some day soon that will hopefully be just as great as yours but in my words and in my way of writing.

I don’t want

to let this go but what more can one get from something that feels so predictable.

Nothing is fun anymore and everything just feels like it’s being stretched out to last longer.

In the hope that things will workout in the end and maybe they will but maybe they won’t.

Life just isn’t the same as it was before and maybe that’s on me but what can I say, I like to shake things up and not keep things the same.

I don’t like feeling bored or defeated and right now I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle and no matter how I feel the results are not good.

I don’t want to walk away and have to forget but what can I do now when all I see are the old times and the new times seem like I’m avoiding you and everything I know I need to say.

I don’t know how much longer I can keep avoiding this end this something so true but, no longer exist and I have to face the light and accept that somethings I’ve out grown and the sadness that was once there just isn’t anymore.

I have no time to look in the past when the present is now and the emotions surrounding me now are positive and lively.

The light outweighs the darkness more than it has ever been.

It was the second day of the new year and she wanted things to go off to a great start, so you booked you both a massage and mud baths.

And as we relaxed together that day, I just kept thinking about the dinner at the nice restaurant  by the water.

How your eyes will sparkle with the reflection of the water playing on in the background.

You will be so excited to spend so of the night just holding hands as we walk down the deck to the boat that will take us out to sea.

The ocean and you have always be connected and you can’t wait to jump back in to that cool water and get lost from all the things going on in your life.

It almost time to celebrate a new year with the ones you love and to look back on all that you have done in 2017.

To all the hard work that you put in at work and in every part of your life.

You begin to think about the things you got to do and see and how grateful your god blessed you with so many things this year.

That you can not look back with out smiling and enjoying the time that is all yours, you want to sleep in and be ready for tonight as the fun starts and the it doesn’t end until after the ball drops and you are now in a new year.

So many things you have almost got down but didn’t seem to have the time to do tit.
