Daily Prompt:Jeopardize

Advertisements

It was a dark windy night when Craig and

a group of his friends went into the forest.

They thought it would be cool to take their daddies

night vision goggles and go out in the dark night and

find the secret cave.

That opening can only be found on the night of the blue moon.

As they creeped through the well covered forest, Billy the youngest of them all shivered as the night wind came through his light jacket.

As they neared the little creek in the middle of forest which lead to the final two paths they would have to find the cave.

Craig said let’s go right but Billy knew left was the right way and, before he could speak up everyone went right.

As Billy ran after them to stop them, a fog came up and he couldn’t move as he heard the screams of his friends.

The one time he hesitated jeopardized the lives of his friends as they had all fell into the whole where the black bear lived and, he sure was hungry.

Daily Prompt: Youth

Advertisements

I see the youth all around

so cute and innocent.

So curious of the world around them

smiling up at strangers as they walk by or hiding behind mom or dad when they see someone new.

Children who will be around in the future when our

time expires and we leave this world behind.

Will the youth today be able to survive without us

or will they struggle when life gets rough?

Oh youth, I hope the best for you and hope you

learn there is so much out there to learn and you

might have to take all the steps to learn it on your own.

Daily Prompt: Eyes

Advertisements

Your eyes I could stare at forever

there the color blue like a breathtaking

view of a clear clean ocean.

They light up when you smile and dim to really

dark blue when your mad or sad.

You look at everyone with so much openness with those eyes of yours.

You never seem to want to hide your emotions behind these eyes.

You’re not afraid of being emotional and yet you are the strongest guy I know.

You don’t back down or give up on anyone to quickly.

Your eyes are the first thing I noticed when I first met you and your eyes are always the last thing I see at night.

Where’s my support team at!

Advertisements

Where were you when I needed your support?
There isn’t a day that goes by that the sadness that is now occupying the space that used to be the joy you bring.
They say it’s hard to kick an addiction or to do something like depression on your own.
But, what do you do when the people who were your support team is gone.
Not a phone call or email returned.
How long are you to wait for them to care again?
Yea we all have lives to live but when is it okay to stop caring for one either.
When do we wonder if they are okay or when do we notice they are different from before.
Or that’s strange she doesn’t usually reach out to me so many times in one week.
When did becoming an adult meant we left people behind.
Yea it can be true that some friendships don’t make it pass seven years or some don’t need to communicate so often.
But, when one reaches out can’t you at least reach back even if it’s days or weeks later.
At least they will know you tried!

Daily Prompt: Moon

Advertisements

Oh Moon you float up there all alone

shining so brightly down on me every night.

You standout from everything at night and sometimes I’ll stare up at you as the little stars blink around you.

And I wonder how many don’t think of you as you shine at night.

Hoping to some like kids interest of the month or year.

But you want to be noticed for your unique as you go through cycles every now and then.

Moon I wonder how many will be inspired to write about you today and, how happy that will make you feel.

The words fill up a beautiful scene

As you read on, you wonder how something so terrific could come from just one person.

You want to be in their place or find that creative void where you can go and write your masterpiece.

To read because you enjoy it, to read for you have become a fan of their work.

You look forward to the poetry springing out and making you smile, laugh, and just fall in love with a great piece that will stick with you.

Until the next great piece comes along and strings you along.

Daily Prompt: Ghost

Advertisements

I saw the ghost today

she was so sad and alone.

Waiting for someone to stop by

And show they care.

But no one ever came and as the wind

blowed and the rain came, and the snow plowed up.

Still she stood there motionless and alone, waiting for people who would never come.

For looking for her was not an option for them and, even though no one came she never gave up hope.

Daily Prompt: Carry

Advertisements

Carry me through the pain

so I gain the clarity I needed.

Carry me through the rain to

wash away the things that cause me

pain.

Carry me when I’m weak, so I can

build up my strength again.

Carry me until the words make sense

again.

If Only

Advertisements

I could find a way to the path I’m meant to be on now.

So I didn’t feel so lost on any given day.

To have hope that it will all workout and maybe it does.

But, what is to come up next?

A question no one can answer for me can’t predict tomorrow.

But, we can feel when the decisions we are making feel right even the ones that scary us the most.

Sometimes there is a release of relief that things worked out or at least  the weight of that problem is off my shoulders.

My path has just begun and maybe one day I’ll make it to the end.

The path that is so unknown I can’t imagine what it will be like but, I know I won’t be lost anymore.

Daily Prompt: Confused

Advertisements

He looked so confused standing in line waiting for his food.

I wanted to ask him so bad, what left him so confused that the look on his face never seemed to go away.

Even after he got his food and walked away the looked seemed stuck or permanently set.

Did one earn the honor to look confused all the time or does one get cursed to look that way?

I guess I’ll never know, but I hope he isn’t cursed to be confused forever.

What kind of life would that be?

Rejection

Advertisements

The words always seem to sting

and make you feel like your best

wasn’t enough.

And so the doubt crawls in and makes

everything seem to slow down and you

don’t worry so much or care for nothing

is going to improve right now.

Maybe a break is needed for you were rejected for

a reason.

Daily Prompt: Complicated

Advertisements

It wasn’t always this complicated

Things used to be so simple and fun.

Now things are so complex that words and actions

Can’t seem to fix this problem the situation so unknown

It feels like a mystery no one  has the time to solve.

So intense the emotions of how we got here just sit around growing

In size, and the hope that things will get better is no where insight.

The fairytale with no great ending but sadness that is so overwhelming

The sadness and pain can be felt from miles away.

The broken heart can be heard breaking all over again and then the slowing

Of one’s heart  beats as the heart doesn’t heal because well its complicated at its best.

Daily Prompt: Reach

I reached for you but I never seemed able to get to you.
Every time I tried to reach you something was blocking me.

I was starting to get tired and I so badly wanted to give up, but I couldn’t for you needed me to save you.

So I reached for the door knob one more time and instead of pushing this time I pulled and, you fell into my arms.

Saved from the heat, I guess I should have pulled the whole time.

Oh Silly me.

Daily Prompt: Obessed

Advertisements

She was obsessed with the color black and everything she owned has to be black.

Even though she was a bubbly girl the color black was her favorite.

It made her look tougher than she was, thinner than she was.

It was the color of the nights sky,her favorite time of day because that’s when all the stars would come out and shine so bright.

The color black always reminded her of her favorite childhood pet who was a black cat called Mr.meow, who was her first friend.

She loved that cat with all her heart and just couldn’t bare to not see the color black since she lost  him at the age of ten.

Daily Prompt: Surface

Advertisements

I lay everything down on a surface and most of the time

I can’t remember where I put it.

So many surfaces to lose things on

To run around looking and looking for one little thing.

Only to find it a couple of feet away on the surface you left it on.

So many times this has happened, the only thing  for me to do now is stop and truly

Look around and notice what’s going on and maybe then I will find what I’m looking for.
